It's a while since I completed ours, December I think, but I could have sworn it asked for the zip code of your accommodation.

Nonimmigrant Visa Photograph Requirements , British passport size photo are
35 mm x 45 mm but for the visa application they want the photo to be 50 mm x 50 mm.

'2 inches (50mm) square, with the head centered in the frame. The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure between 1 & 1 3/8 inches (25mm to 35mm) with the eye level between 1 & 1/8 inch to 1 & 3/8 inches (28mm and 35 mm) from the bottom of the photograph;' This is stupid, to get a photo with those measurements the photo has to be edited. Would a photo from the photo booth be good enough?

Pretty much anywhere I've seen that does UK passport photos does them for other countries...the photo for the Visa has to comply with the size of the US passport photo. I know it's 'stupid' that for a US government application you have to comply by their laws. Personally I would not rely on a photo booth photo for something this important.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

What would you suggest...going to a photo shop and getting it sorted there? Can Asda/Tesco photo centre do this?

I don't know if Asda/Tesco offer this service and even if some locations do, others won't so I have no idea if one in your area would. Do a google search for 'passport photos (your city)' and see what comes up. Then either look at their website or call to ask if they offer US-compliant passport photos.

    Or use a website like:

    http://www.epassportphoto.com/

Personally, I'd rather have someone who's trained to take the photo properly do them than to try and do it myself.

Strangely enough I was forced to fill in this form for my trip to the Grand Canyon back in February.

However when I got to immigration with my printed out ESTA sheet I was told to go and fill in a green card for confirmation of my details!

    What a waste of time!

It's been discussed here several times...they will eventually phase out the green forms but haven't yet. Having a print out of the ESTA confirmation is only for peace of mind really - they have documentation that you have an ESTA in their computers (or should do). Every flight we've been on they have handed out the forms on the plane to be filled out in flight. I don't really see what the big deal is personally.

    Thank you

To get someone to do it professional , two passport size photos for £10 (a bit expensive).
