That is quite a big and recent negative. I think even the sub prime cards would worry about giving you a card. On the bright side you may as well try Aqua, Vanquis and Cap 1 as a few more checks aren't going to harm your score anymore than it is.0 -
Really? Even though they're satisfied? I didn't know that. They all drop off at the end of Nov though as they are OLD defaults that were in a payment plan and I settled them in full last year, and as I understand it, its 6 years from the date the defualt notice was issued that they are removed from your credit files, am I right?
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
Bloody hell just had a reply from Egg
7.9% with £3700 limit!
I couldn't even get a bank account last year.
PayPal will definitely go. It goes to show it's worth shopping around. I was content with the 16.9% offered by PayPal (anything was better than the 34.9% with Cap 1)
That's a superb result! :TBest Regards,

Yes you are right, but even settled defaults have a negative effect. I had tow when I was accepted by Capital One. It wasn't an instant acceptance I had to wait a few days.0 -

1 is 3 defaults that are SATISFIED from 2007.
2 is a late payment on my credit card 3 months ago.
Now for a card that is designed for people with credit histories that require some improvement, this seems a big harsh. Seems their new owners are getting picky!! I called and was basically told "tough titty" and that there is no appeals process.Dont bother with them.
Sorry to hear that - What is the website for manument online?
Thanks

I have just applied for the Monument Card and they have accepted me, but hold on something is not ringing true here, the never asked how long I have lived at my address, they never asked for my bank details, they never asked for any of my previous address’s, they say they have approved me but it sounds too good to be true, anyone else tried?

Monument are Barclaycard, is it?
The address showing up on monument website is:-
Monument Card Services, PO Box 6476, Northampton NN4 1ZN
But when you search the post code on Royal mail website, it comes up as Barclaycard.
There's not evena phone number to contact them

APR 29.9% , not too bad.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution.
