    Hi PROLIANT

Just to say I think you're going the right way about things..... just take the advice of some other posters and DON'T get in debt to sub-prime cards - it's an easy trap and I've been in it!!!

However, if you keep them payments up and keep yer nose clean you can work miracles with your credit score. It's taken me around a year and a half to two years to go from Cap 1 and Vanquis to the shiny Amex card I see before me! (God I never thought I'd see the day!)

I wish you the best of luck, be patient and things get better, I promise ;)

    Regards

Well the "trashing" of my credit rating has re-commenced after a few months break (see page 1 of this thread).

I have since cancelled my Goldfish and Capital One cards and tonight have applied for the following cards in the following order :

    1) Abbey Zero - referred, I understand this is normal
    2) HSBC (via quidco) - decilned
    3) Ulster Gold Card - accepted with £3000 limit
    4) John Lewis - declined

I will post back the result of the Abbey card when known and will apply for some more cards in another 3 or 4 months. My Alliance & Leicester card will most likely be cancelled by then too.
    Best Regards,

    V

To further trash my credit rating the following have now been applied for :

    1) Stroud & Swindon - requested £10k limit - referred
    2) Halifax - referred
    3) Lloyds TSB - referred
    4) Citibank - declined

Proof that multiple searches do indeed lower your acceptance level. I will report back on the progress of my referrals.

I've now applied for a card with what seems like every card issuer so now have no choice but to lay off the applications... what am I going to do?

Gotta remortgae next September (2009) so at least there's a year for the searches to drop off my file!
    Best Regards,

Have been offered the standard Halifax credit card instead of the one I applied for, was gonna reject it but notice you get a year's worth of Experian Credit Expert with it so am gonna open just for that reason and nay use it and cancel after 12 months! :T

Time to slow down Mr Volcane or your file will end up like mine...too many credit searches mate.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Damage already done but I don't actually *need* any credit til August 09 now so am leaving it a full clear year now for the searches to drop off, a few more green zero's to build up and a few more settled accounts to go on file when I close some of my cards.

If I don't get repeat deals then all cards except my Egg Money will be closed down by 31st May 09 at the latest, some many months earlier.

Still awaiting decisions from Abbey and Lloyds and if I get them then it'll be a couple more stoozes but if I don't it's no loss.

I'll be restarting the stooze in Sep/Oct09 then.
    Best Regards,

    V
