look ice it's a free number not cost to you waiting will kill the operating system,if you do not you are been very foolish,5min to 10 min free phone call thats all ,

no.......:eek:please don't shout at me...I got SP1 today though...was abit surprised...when I went into the settings of vista it said "detected new hardware"don't know why...so I've rectified that...and it should activate itself in less than 6 days...apparently if it detects new hardware this will happen...but as vista learns as you go sort of thing...then it will realise soon that there isn't any new hardware and just activate...if not then and only then will I ring them...

did you know that if you buy the retail box you can only activate online 5 times then after you have to ring them...but with the OEM you can do it as many time's as you like...as long as it's not to near each activation...maxium is 3 times in 6 months...it's all down to pirate's apparently....:rotfl:ship ahoy...

that's the failsafe...
my problem is down to vista picking up new hardware that is not there...I am just checking out what M$ told me...it will just do it on it's own...wait and see...play the game...will it or wont it...only time will tell...:Dthey said if it doesn't (online support) then I can phone and they'll sort it...:D

look ICE, it will not just do it on it's own,if it fails on the internet activation that you have already done, you HAVE to ring microsoft up no over way.there is not cost to you on a landline

why wont you activate it by ringing them up

if you do not do it vista will just stop working until you do

Vista will only need reactivating following a reinstall or a MAJOR hardware change. It only takes a few minutes and I don't understand your attitude. If you ever have to reinstall there are two files in the Windows\system32 directory that you should back up, I will not go into details but copying those two files to your new installation will save having to activate at all.

Phone M$ unless you have a damn good reason not to.
