if it fails on the net the only way to activate is to ring microsoft up,stop wining about it and ring them,do it know, it takes five min max and if you mess up you talk to a person ,how hard is it ,the only person that will be of pocket will be you, just stop been silly and ring them,
we all have to do it it's not just you
come on ring them and i ham looking for a post that says you done it,it's 0024ish ring them there open nowthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
because then it will stop the os from doing it in the future if I get another key from M$...I'll just wait thanks...maybe I wont have to ring them then...if not then I will eventually...:D
You will not get ANOTHER KEY from Microsoft.
When you do product activation by phone on OEM there are a couple of things that you need to be aware of.
1. It is a totally automated service. You don't actually speak to a real person.
2. The number they give you is an activation code NOT a product key.
It will not affect the OS in the future and to be honest you have already answered the question as to why this has happened.
You have installed (and thus activated) the OS more than twice so this check kicks in. You now have to pick up the phone, call the free number and bash a few keys.
Now if you then leave things alone for a few months (last time I looked it was 6), and then have to do this again, the online service should be working again as long as you don't try and activate it 3 times in a row in a short period.0 -

I don't see why I should...my son's mate had to get a new MB and processor and at first as expected due to component up-grade he got the same message but after 7 days it just did it no problem...so I think I will wait the 7 days as don't want to mess up the activation for later activations...as I am sure that will happen once I ring them...:(
How would you be messing it up for later activations?
Your helping yourself by having Microsoft 'reset' your key phoning up!0 -
