Never been asked for ID anywhere. I too started drinking when I was about
13-14 years old and was buying rounds in pubs in West Yorkshire(Loiner born and bred) when I was 15."Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

I was still getting asked when I was in my 30's.
But a better one was this... I was shopping with my friend (34) when she asked for baccy for her husband and they asked her for ID. Her reply: "Well, the baccy is for my husband who's at home looking after OUR ***5*** children, the oldest of whom is *14*!!" In fairness, she DOES only look about 17!!!:D
Don't know how she does it, but she looks great!

Went to a club for someone's birthday and some of her work mates came. One of the ladies was 47 and a bouncer asked her for ID. She explained she didn't have any as didn't take it out and said clearly she was over 18. The bouncer gave her some rubbish about how he could see she was over 18 but needed to show a form of ID.
I mean, what was he looking for? what superpowers does he have that he would have possibly needed to see her ID for.
My friend also said she went to a club where they actually scanned your ID into the computer. She's a solicitor and said there is no legality behind doing this and said no way and walked out.0 -

Not fibbers at all, in the US you have to show ID to buy alcohol whatever your age and I was there just yesterday.Domestic Violence and Abuse 24hr freephone helpline for FEMALE TARGETS - 0808 2000 247.

I am 32 and I am still getting IDed. Every new birthday I think oh it won't happen this year but it does. Prior to turning 26 I actually gave up buying booze as it was too much hassle. I used to get my 30something boyfriend to buy it instead. I think the only reason I am getting served now is confidence, I think this has a lot to do with it.0

we have just returned from Florida and my 28 year old son was asked for ID at Animal Kingdom theme park when he told the vendor his age he was told that as he was under 30 he would need someone to buy his drink (beer)for him who was over 30.Can you imagine that happening here.0

I was last asked in the local 'One Stop' by someone who was old enough to be my mother. She didn't even have any humour in her when I handed over my driving licence and said that I'd stopped thinking of it as ID when I hit 25!! I was 32 years old, and had my babies with me. Whilst I realise you can have 2 yr old babies at 18, I was in my work suit, and do not look (I wish) 18 anymore!
Strangley enough, a newspaper article appreared in the local paper (Southport area) around that time to say that a 78 year old had been refused alcohol, as he didn't have any ID on him and couldn't prove his age.
I undertsand we have to be careful, but there are somethings that are well beyond a joke. :beer:Always on the hunt for a bargain.
Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea0 -
I got IDed on my 30th birthday - best present ever!
Usually get IDed in the local when they have new barstaff. Also by the manager in Sainsbury's.
Mostly people are terribly embarrassed when they find out how old I actually am...0 -
I get paid to go round shops and supermarkets to see if they ID me, brilliant job! I'm 19 so really I should be ID'd and everywhere seems to d0 really well. Although to be honest most places have a pop up "Are they under 21" screen show whenever alcohol is scanned. All major supermarkets are fine, the only one's I've not been ID'd in are Threshers those shops that have a yellow speech bubble with "Local Booze" written on them. Those smaller kind of places aren't always so well managed0
