Hi,
Arm yourself with a big bottle of cheap conditioner,a nit comb and cheap toilet roll(to wipe comb on) and do this every other day you will find all are gone mostly on first day. Start putting their hair up from now on when around other little ones. I cane roll my little girls now lol and not had a problem for years.
Good luck x0 -
I'm afraid they'll have to put up with lots of conditioning & combing!!!!!
agree with the cheap conditioner remark, it'll take several very thorough combings to get rid of em
Try using Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner but don't let it get in their eyes, it's stingy but nits just don't seem to like it

I have made up a spray of tea tree oil and water which I spray on my childrens hair every day to stop them getting them all the time.

HI
Yes me too use the conditioner and nit comb and comb through every day, the conditioner makes it hard for them to hang on!
Also you can use tree tea oil in a final rinse when you wash the girls hair as apparently the nits don't like the smell so keeps them away !!
Hope they clear soon xx0 -
Get one of the Nitty Gritty combs from Boots, they are great. cost about £10, but they do have a lifetime guarantee.
I bought some of the Alberto Balsam Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner.
The first combing through that I did, I put the conditioner on dry hair and used loads, then combed it through. It was easy to see the little blighters and also the eggs coming out.
Also use the comb on yourselves, just to make sure.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

From my experience using the various full mark solutions etc is that although they may help (itch!) nothing beats regular conditioner and combing. Tea tree shampoo and conditioner can be brought for about 60p each (itch!).
I recently rinsed the girls hair in a vinegar and water solution (tip from a friend who has got two girls as well) and left overnight before washing it the next day. It did seem to help as they were clear quite quickly. A bit smelly though!:j0 -
I think I read in a magazine that the nit comb is available on prescription, which means you can get it free for the children if you go to see your gp.0

I used the conditioner method on a daily basis and then on a weekly basis used Hedrin.
It does not have a smell like some of the other nit treatments it's more like baby oil on their heads. What part of washing their hair do you children not like, years ago you could get a special head guard that you place on the childs head and it stopped the water getting into their eyes. I've tried to find a picture or a link but so far not having much luck0 -
I have two girls. The best treatment I ever gave, was cheap conditioner, a fine comb and giving up an hour of my time whilst i piled loads of conditioner on and went through their hair with the comb, rinsing the comb out in a plastic bowl (yuk) and watching all the nits/head lice in the bowl of water. Every time the girls caught nits, it would take over a week of doing this to eradicate the little blighters:rotfl: I then washed the girls' hair with tea tree oil at the end of their hair washing. Good luck!0
