HI all don't get me started with the dog poo issue!!! in my road we recently had a new family move in, well I couldn't work out why suddenly the amount of dog mess had gone up untill I was taking the girls to school a little earlier than usual and this man was walking his staffs and as it got near my home he proceeding to let it do it's business directly by our gate and went to walk off. I got out of my car and called to him asking if he was gonna leave it there, he tried to be a bit mouthy and I said fine, I have filmed you on my phone and there are council signs in the road re:fines for dog mess I will send the footage- to the council along with your address and let them fine you. needless to say he immediatly apologised went and got a bag and picked it up- and has not done it since.
I don't sh*t on peoples doorsteps so why should I have their dog mess on mine!Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I All ways check my son hair ever other day as the school he goes to most of the kids have them , asked the school if they could send out letters to let us know but the head teacher said it would cost 2 much to to do .the head then said there were 3 kids that aways had them they have told the mams and even give them the cream for it and they just would not treat there kids hair .
so i took in it in me own hands and went home did a big poster saying "watch out watch nits are about "and out of 40 people that went through the gate and read the sign said oh i better check the kids hair when they get home.
As for the poo the school front is covered in it i cant under stand why peeps dont pick it up after there dog it a easy job to do
they make a canny bit in fines if they were to go up to the school and watch dog ownersNever hold your farts in. They travel up your spine, into your brain, and that's where you get s****y ideas from.

because they just don`t care OP
my mother checked our hair every single week (50 years ago) and that was in the day of the nit nurse and real poverty. Two of my 6 siblings got nits once and I never had any all through my school days but the derbac comb was always used anyway, just in case
I did the same with my own children and all through their time at school, only had to treat them once
don`t get me going on lazy, selfish dog owners.
Just curious! Is having nits linked to poverty???? Can posh people not catch them?I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D0 -
i never ever had nots in all my years spent at school when we had nit nurses. however once i reached my mid 20's id quite often catch them off my nephews because their schools done away with the nit nurse. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0

My mother would use Sulio shampoo on me every month when I was a kid, I never had nits. The shampoo stunk to high heaven and would kill anything that came into contact with it lol
My DD's old school were terrible with them. One morning I discovered she had them and kept her home from school to delouse. A week later they were back and so began a cycle that lasted for almost 12 months. Then one of the boys she sat with (dirty little thing he was, such a shame for him because his parents obviously didnt care) left the school and within a week the nit problem was solved and she never had them again.
got me itching now!!0 -

I think Kittie was making the point that in her childhood, although her family and people in general were much poorer, they did a great job of keeping headlice at bay.
Obviously any-one can get headlice. I find the cheapest, thickest conditioner and a comb sufficient to clear headlice.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
I have one daughter who has had nits almost continually for the last 18 months - not our fault I hasten to add - but I have to go through her hair at least twice a week as they are constantly picked up from someone else.
I have spoken to the teacher, headmaster and school nurse - they are not allowed to check children for nits as they cannot "touch" the children without parental permission or have given the parents chance to be present.
I can honestly say I am a "nit expert" now and can spot them a mile off. I am not embarressed that my child has them - as I know I am constantly dealing with it (it takes at least 2-3 hours every week). However - every other parent denies their child has them - and looks horrified that I can admit my child gets them!!
Also I would say forget the solutions - you cannot beat regular combing with lots of conditioner and a nit comb!DFW No. 344
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!:T0
