I ordered it by phone in the end. The operator tried to apply the code for £15 discount but couldn't. Said I'd get it on my next order. We'll see, I guess. He also said I could return it foc within 14 days if I didn't like it.

Just had a look of it. No way could I get that, my daughter would use it as stairs and be climbing up it all the time. Have enough trouble keeping her from climbing on furniture without putting a staircase in the livingroom. :eek: :eek:

then, I got my hi-fi system for £30 and i am very pleased with it.
I will post here as soon as I get my cabinet. I know they are not to everyones' tastes, but thats fair enough, If you dont like it don't get it! I did wonder about the kids using it as stairs but i think if I put ornaments on the 'steps' they will be less inclined.

I have 3 other pieces of sheesham furniture and they are made from solid wood, non of the crap you get from MFI, so I figured I will go for this bargain, only headache and here comes the rant, so far is empire, what a amateur set up they have, I first placed an order online yesterday, recieved the confirmation email which i followed up with a phone call to ask about delivery only to be told that no order has been placed and that there is a common GLICH on their server software, so placed the order with the girl on the phone only to be asked my name and postcode 3 times in less than 5 mins! hello anybody home. She then tells me that it will take 24hrs to process the order and to ring back 2moro to check statis. Rang back 24hrs later, placed on hold, still on hold, patched through to be told that order has been placed but no infornation about delivery date etc, so I ask for a customer ref number so that i can use internet to track order, sorry we carnt give you that until the goods have been despatched! again hello anybody home. Rant over need to lie down.

loopielou, this is exactly the same problems that were experienced with Empire's last sale. The website is never updated so what is showing as
being instock in fact isn't, same on the phone so they will take order after
order for goods they don't in fact have.

Last sale I ordered clothes and out of four pieces ordered only one arrived and it wasn't even the one piece that they said I would receive.

Should you get anything delivered, treat it as a bonus
