Hey Mrs S, sounds like you are getting into the swing of things really quickly. Personally I like to 'check'out' the mothers on the school run ;) and I bet you looked fab Len x
I check them out too, but probably not in quite the same way. :D

I look at the glamorous, smartly dressed, calm ones, and think 'how???', and then I look at the frazzled, scruffily dressed ones with wild hair and no make-up and think 'phew, I'm not the only one'! I like to think I fall somewhere in between, but if I'm honest, I'm swaying towards the latter on the days I'm not working!

*Sigh* I knew it was all too good to be true - just checked our shopping credit card.

Our shopping and petrol budget is £350 per month. I used to look after this, but handed it over to Stu so that he didn't feel completely shut out of our family finances.

The bill is £550.....two hundred quid over budget!!! !!!!!!!!!

Asked him how it happened, and he just went:

Here endeth his control of the shopping budget.

(whispering now ... don't tell anyone but we don't have a bin in our kitchen we either use a carrier bag or take the rubbish straight out to the wheely bin omg I'm such a scum bag :o )!

Number 2 on the scum bag front then - I'm the same :o

Christ Snags, if your boobs are down to your knees, mine must be keeping my feet warm!

I don't think you should feel bad about buying new work clothes, it all helps with re-gaining confidence etc of going back to work.

Well, that was my excuse anyway.............:o ;) :rotfl:

We used to do the same with our rubbish too - in fact our bin is right outside the back door, so really we shouldn't even need a kitchen bin. It does look very pretty though. I cleaned and polished it lovingly when I cleaned the kitchen earlier! :D

Keren, yes, oddly enough I think it will help with confidence. I just feel like I can cope better when I feel smart and presentable.

Gemmzie - it's not quite until the end of April, our month runs from the 20th - 19th, so we have got another week's shopping to pay for yet. We don't need much luckily.

To be honest, I'm sort of relieved to be taking over control of it again, because I knew at the back of my mind that he wasn't keeping track of our spending, but I wanted to give him chance to prove he could successfully manage a budget.

Thank goodness it's 'only' £200 - we haven't had the payment from the magazine yet, so we should be able to cover it from that, but it's annoying because I wanted to pay off some of the secured loan with that.
