They still suck.0

I HATE home delivery network with a passion, and have never had a parcel delivered smoothly from them.
I can't get parcels delivered at work (not allowed) so have to get them delivered to home but try to only use companies that use RM. Sometimes however I'm foiled
Main gripe is that they only deliver 9-5 Monday-Friday when I'm out, and the depot is a 1hour round trip to pick up. I always end up having to pick then flipping parcel up and I hate driving the whole way up and the depot is a nightmare to find.
I've also had HDN leave parcels in full view of the street, throw a parcel marked delicate/breakable thrown over a 5ft fence (broken dvd player there, twice in fact), leave parcels in the rain to get all soggy, and not knocking the door but putting a card through saying attempted delivery. Eh no you didn't you berk.carpe diem

It's a very rare occasion i feel compelled to complain about many things however HDNL New Cross has shown such immense levels of incompetence i feel i must relent and vent.
As i am awaiting a replacement Kindle due to a clumsy family member i presumed that with Amazons previously impeccable record with my deliveries that i would have no issues, however after 6 days of being notified of a replacement being despatched i became somewhat curious as to why it had not arrived thus leading me to check my Amazon account order tracking to see that HDNL had attempted delivery 4 times and returned to depot with goods on board.
I feel i must point out that i have been home continuously at the times they stated that they were here for delivery and not once did the buzzer go or was there a card left with details etc.
On contacting HDNL the gentleman who answered the call quickly divulged that the driver had tried to deliver my package to Prusom St some 300 yds away, clearly not the same as the address on the box, how can a company that professes to be a logistical giant collate so many geographically embarressed drivers, it beggars belief.0 -
/vent. On the plus side, it is Amazon so if you complain to them directly, you probably will get your goods.
To end my story however, PayPal and eBay and the guy's credit card company dismissed all claims against me (including the chargeback), but only after many months of often arduous and bitter dispute. Even though all parties concerned agreed that this guy was trying to screw me over, it contributed in the end to my decision to take out a debt relief order as a protection against this and other potential debts, which led indirectly to a lifetime paypal restriction. So even though I won every conceivable aspect of my case and was proved innocent of all wrong doing, I can't use PayPal anymore. However given the level of grief they gave me, it's no skin off my nose. It's their loss. They made a ton of money off me over the years, often charging extortionate rates, so I can honestly say that I don't miss them at all. I have (and still have) a substantial 100% eBay rating, so my reputation is beyond all doubt.
The moral of the tale is if you are in the right and know you are in the right, fight your corner for as long as it takes, even if victory in the end might have a bitter sweet taste.0 -
I had a card through the door today after missing a delivery. The card was from a company called 'Yodel'. On closer inspection it said "Yodel: Formerly Home Delivery Network". I suppose this means I've little chance of seeing my parcel then, lol.
HDNL are the worst. I wonder if they've learnt anything or just changed their name to escape all the bad press they seem to get?

Does anyone have a landline phone no for HDNL Droitwich Spa, please?
Sorry but you have to phone the local region customer service offices as they will transfer you to the correct depot.
DroitwichSpa are usually fast with sending parcels straight out of the door as soon as they come in.0 -

Hi all,
HDNL are not good at all, from experience alot of parcels are misrouted to incorrect depots causing delays on deliveries. Alot of companies use HDNL as they are cheap. I would be very wary ordering off a company that uses them and if I did order I would allow alot of extra time.
i ordered a pair of trainers last week from JD Sports, the delivery they were meant to charge me for but i got that free and the delivery was meant to be on the following thursday but it was there the next day.
Droitwich Spa sorting office are pretty good with sending parcels out but with the quantity of companies using them they cannot always send out on that same day.0 -
Have been a critic of Yodel, but have got to give them some kudos. Was expecting a package for delivery on Monday, but goy a text out of the blue yesterday saying that my goods would be delivered between 12 and 8pm.Goods arrived at 12.20! Well done guys!0

I have been a bit shocked by HDN this past week.
Amazon sent me email confirmng i would receive item delivered via HDN on specific date. It didnt arrive. I left it couple of days and 'live chatted' with Amazon customer services who told me that I had signed for the item 2 days ago'...........
Ummmmm I was @ work and the neighbours don't share my name - which was the signatory apparently.
I am shocked - this is fraud!! Amazon said they would check And get back to me but nothing yet.
Parcel arrived 2 days later which is ok but I don' think HDN should get away with lying about a delivery - has anyone else had this experience?
Thanks - have a lovely Bank Holiday!!
