i have had deliveries from these peeps and never had a problem - but considering how bad Royal Mail is at the same job - it must be more complex than us mere mortals realise. saying that i have had deliveries from Home deliv as late as 9.00pm, deliveries on saturday afternoon and was totally gobsmacked to get a delivery at Sunday lunch time - which I was dead impressed with as i had only ordered it Friday morning. you may still get your parcel today - you never know!

No it gets tracked when it leaves the depot - this feature is quite good, actually.
It's the fact that they just blatantly lied about the address being inaccessible that has made me so angry.
  • HDNL Nightmare.

took 4 days after due date to collect two parcels. both ended in wrong depots, 1st took a week to deliver, went droitwich sorting twice, then to wrong depot twice, 2nd took nearly two weeks, delivered after many calls and emails, went to sorting office 4 times, ended up north 3 times when due South, went to right depot, was sent back to sorting and back to droitwich via another depot.. When eventually delivered, parcel contents damaged. Customer services useless and pricey phone number, direct depot call useless, managing directors secretary useless. Avoid at all costs. This all started 1st december, still ongoing 15th december

First collection fail blamed on inaccessible property? perhaps if you are totally blind, on a main road, vision clear, access fine.
  • I've often had issues with home delivery network too. Seems the parcels in our area get delivered by a middle aged lady in an estate car. Plus she's more likely to turn up at 7pm than during the day.

Getting it delivered to work is even worse as the HDN driver ALWAYS tries to deliver to our warehouse instead of the adjoining office, but won't go to the warehouse delivery door as "she's intimidated by the big lorries in the yard". Took me 4 days to get the parcel to work as the person just couldn't get the right combination of time, address and correct door!
If its a lady in a car it is NOT NOT NOT Home Delivery Network. Most likely Parcelnet / Hermes. Please get it right before you post!

Misrouting will occur with any 3PL provider. Their delivery rate is 99.7%+. HDNL are as good as a carrier as you'll find, given the fact there are now very few out there which are not part of a wider network...

Indeed. Being the biggest business to home company they are bound to get the biggest number of complaints, and as they specialise in to home drops then they probably encounter a great number of the issues affecting delivery that the to-business couriers avoid.

I have to say, i always assumed it was just a sideline for the catalogue delivery guy. Pick up parcels when he was in the area.
I've only sent around 3 parcels via HDN and they were picked up in the morning of the day they said they would come and I have had no complaints at the other end either.

Hi, seriously though, does anyone have a telephone number for Droitwich?

I have wasted a fortune calling all of their 0870 numbers, and have received multiple assurances (lies) over 4 days now that a manger from this centre would call me to let me know what had become of my parcel.

There's also no head of customer services I can call, or email and no way of talking to anyone who isn't just a robot at one of their call centres.

I can't stand HDN, half my street have had my parcels because they're in such a rush to get rid of packages. One parcel I can't even get hold of because my neighbour isn't answering the door!. Grr!
    TSB: £4900
    Virgin: £4700

Today is the first day of the rest of my life...
  • I booked a collection by HDN.

I was told it would be collected yesterday between 0900 and 2100. So I waited in.

No one came - no phone call - no explanation.

I tracked the parcel online and it is shown as having been collected yesterday afternoon and it is in HDN's depot. Funny that - it's still sitting by my front door.

This morning I phoned to complain and asked when it would be collected. The girl I spoke to could not say when - not even on which day.

I asked to speak to a supervisor - not possible, all busy.

Is this firm 'fit for purpose'? I think not!

My husband works for HDNL and today he has 128 parcels to deliver + collections .

They do have some owner drivers deliver for them but only when they are really busy. My husbands depot has had to bring in owner drivers this week to catch up as they was all off work last week with the thick snow we had! They are out every day now untill christmas eve to try and get parcels to everyone before christmas!

He always gets people having a go at him asking where their other parcels are ....he is only the delivery driver he has no say what goes into the van. The company tell you if the person is not in try the neighbour ..if they refuse or not in then bring it back.

i have ordered from them before my husband worked for them and had no problems .
