  • Wow just found this thread .. so good to share makeup bargains and comparisons. I love makeup and find myself spending a lot and then not using the products as they are not all they are hyped up to be! I have a few makeup favourites which I love love love and for me are better than the more expensive brands:-

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Ultra Black Mascara (sometimes 2 Bourjois products for £10 or other offers available) - I have compared this to Benefit Bad Gal Mascara which is much at least double the price and I think that Bourjois is definitely better!

Last year some of you may remember the Glamour Magazine Benefit Lipgloss full size freebies? - I got hooked on one of the shades available with the magazine and had to buy from Benefit and it cost £13! for one lipgloss and if you wear it as much as I do it lasts 1 month to 2 months, recently I found Barry M do an similar/if not identical shade of a tube lipgloss for about £3.50-£4.00 ... it's brilliant ... looks the same and also tastes of strawberry!

I use Boots Cucumber Face Wipes on a daily basis and they are great!
I use No17 Bramble Frost Blusher - £3.71 (usually some sort of offer though), it is great!

Opia (Primark) Black Kohl eyeliner - there are usually two different colours in a pack and only cost £1.00 .. stays on all day and is just as good as most top brands I have used in the past. Will last a long time and is a fraction of the price!

Recently started using Johnson's Moisturising 24 Hour Shower Cream - my skin feels nice and smooth and smells lovely! It was half price t £1.34 and I know you can usually get in 99p stores!

    Hope this helps!
Mummy to a beautiful 4 month old princess! x

Just discovered this thread. Could be a late night for me. I think The Beauty Bible is great for finding products that actually work. I recently brought the Green Beauty Bible too. I now seem to have fewer products, but ones that I like more.

Avalon Organics Lavender Moisturiser did well in the Green Beauty trials and was £8ish from YourHealthFoodStore (with free p&p.) It arrived the next day and is great. Just ordered my second pot.

I also love Simple Cleansing Wipes. Our local chemists sell 2 packs for £3.99.

I also saw the Feelunique website mentioned. They are good for getting cheaper high end products, so I would second the recommendation (also froo P&P.)

Lacura Winkle Stop at £6 is supposed to contain extract of snake venom like the very expensive wrinkle-relaxing creams. Has anyone tried it? If so, what do you think.

I'm quite interested in trying it, but would like to hear some opinions first.

I think that would put me off....exactly how do they extract the snake venom? Sounds cruel.

Just wanted to give a resounding "yes" to lidl siana moisturizer.I bought this when it was being praised about a year ago,but started using it 3 months ago when my good stuff ran out (i used dramatically different, clinique (?) and i wanted to economise. I have given it a good trial. It is fab, even with my sensative "mature" skin, definitely as good as much more expensive products!

Mineral makeup can be hugely expensive. I've found a really helpful and reliable seller on ebay and am happy to recommend her shop http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/returnallhealth-beautifulearth2006__W0QQ_armrsZ1

I think her products are fab and she's really helpful if you need any advice. You can also order samples which is very useful.

Just been reading trhough the thread and it's brill, thanks OP ;)

Have tried the aspirin face mask this morning and was quite impressed,

I used 3 aspirin tablets, crushed and mixed with a few drops of water. I added a couple of spoonfuls of honey then plastered on my face. (Gets a bit messy by the way!!)
I left on for 10 mins, then exfoliated and rinsed, face feels really clear and smooth, love it :j

Would recommend to anyone with congested skin.

    :D

Haven't read the entire thread, so it probably has already been mentioned, but my recommendation is https://www.cheapsmells.com. I cannot live without YSL Touche Eclait (have tried the cheaper versions, they just don't do the job as well!) and this site is the cheapest I've found it, even cheaper than eBay!

I also love Collection 2000 eye shadows - they do the job just as well as any other for about £2. Barry M nail varnishes (£2.95) are the best I've found (and I have a real addiction!), especially with a topcoat. The Barry M website is really good if you don't mind paying a little extra for postage - loads of new colours that you can't get in the shops, and they often have special offers and discount codes flying about.

The new rose tinted Vaseline lip balm is great - I never use anything but Vaseline on my lips (no fancy glosses or lipsticks) and this with a hint of colour is lovely.

And nothing beats the original Mudd face masks - non-comedogenic so won't cause spots like so many other face masks do and only 99p!

GrammarGirl, you are so right about the BarryM nail paints. I have only just discovered the range and the colours are fab and durability equals more expensive brands.

I also like the Collection 2000 eye shadows. I like the Mocha triple palette and find the colour lasts all day.
