I've bought the Aldi Lacura lipstick in Coral for £1.99. It's really creamy and a great shade for pale skinned blondes like me.0

Hi, I've got quite sensitive skin, seems much worse at the moment in winter, and I can't fault Boots No7. Most other things I've tried I can feel make my skin tingle, but I can't even feel any of the No7 range that I've tried, they're all hypo-allergenic. It's not that cheap, but cheaper than Liz Earle.
I stocked up on No7 stuff as atm they're giving away a £5 off No7 voucher when you spend £5. Also if you spend £18 on No7 you get a really good little makeup bag with minitures in, insude's a vouchers for 250 points when you buy any No7 skincare product, and obviously you'll get another £5 off voucher.0 -
Is the Aldi's Touch Eclat on sale there all the time, or is it only in occasionally on specail offer?0

As a trained beauty therapist I know that a lot of the cheaper cosmetics contain more mineral oils. Mineral oils have a lot of names such as liquid paraffin, petrolatum, baby oil, Vaseline. Mineral oils are obtained from the waste products of oil production and don't sink into the skin to nourish it. Only natural oils sink into the skin. Mineral oils have some good qualities as it puts a plastic layer on the skin to stop moisture loss in harsh weather conditions or good for babies bottoms to protect against nappy rash. Baby oil is virtually pure mineral oil and it's why it's used for massage, as it doesn't sink in so keeps the hands gliding. Only natural oils should be used in aromatherapy massage, as the oils are needed to sink in.
Another good point about mineral oil is that hardly anybody is allergic to it and it's cheap. A lot of people reading magazine articles telling them to put cheap things on their skin, aren't told about the ingredients in the products. Even some of the more expensive brands use cheap ingredients to bulk out their products though.
A bottle of virgin olive oil for 3 pounds is probably better for your skin than a cheap product that contains mostly mineral oils.
Not to mention all the toxins in them; that take 16 seconds to enter your bloodstream!0 -

I was wondering if any one can recommend any good moisturiser for sensitive and dry skin. I am really desperate as most stuff has my skin stinging after I put it on. I would like to use it as a daily moisturiser and sometimes as base for make up although don't tend to wear foundation daily. Please help
I reccommend Simple moisturiser. It comes in two froms 'light' and 'rich'. I have only ever used the light version but if you have dry skin then rich ight be better. This might work well for you if your skin is quite tempermental as the moistruisers they do are all unscented and uncoloured hence the brand name. Its about £3 in boots and superdurg.
oh and has anyone tried the new foundation out by Maybelline called Dream Satin Liquid? Any thoughts?0 -
My main money-saving tactic is more a cheat than finding money off deals.
I noticed that the difference in price between Simple baby wipes and simple face wipes was over £3, so I plumped of the baby wipes! I know the face wipes have a different formulation and so on, but they do the job I want (removing make up without irritating the skin or eyes, or leaving a residue) perfectly well at 1/3 of the price. Plus you get 80 instead of 25.
I do make up for it by using Simple light moisturiser. However, if I am really short and can't afford it, Tesco have an own brand "Sensitive Skin" hydrating facial moisturiser )75 ml for just a pound or two. It has many of the same qualities, is maybe slightly less thick in consistency.
Don't know how helpful that is to anyone, but they're my tactics when money is tight.0 -

I'm still looking for a decent facial moisturiser for combintaion skin though. They're either too rich and clog my pores up (more blackheads) or don't moisturise enough leaving me dry.... Grrrrr!
Liz Earle Light moisturiser - moneysaving in that it works:D0 -

I've actually been using this and it's done wonders for my skin. I did use DHC extra virgin oil but I can't afford it at the moment, this is a little more greasy so I have to use less than a drop, but it's moisturised the dry areas of my skin and though at first my oily patches flipped out they have now become a lot better.
Shame about the smell but I mix over essential oils (diluted of course) into it to make it smell good. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all.
