Here's the link to the mineral make-up thread:

Lilo Lilo has already been recommended by someone (on this thread) as a good reasonably priced one: http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/home.php
Thanks Unity and Harryharp.
I have looked at the US and Canadian Bare Escentuals sites fairly recently as the range was recommended by the actress Jewel Staite, whose opinion I do trust - but it just seemed very expensive especially with shipping costs. So I'll have a look at the others now. But it'll take me a while to get through my NYC, so no desperate hurry.0 -
Hollywood Beauty Cocoa Butter £2-£2.99 for a tub from most black hair shops.
(I picked up a massive 25oz for £4.95)
It contains more cocoa butter than palmers, and they do promotions ie 50% extra free or a free soap.
Also raw cocoa butter is only £1 for a stick. as the tubs of cocoa butter contain petrolatum the raw cocoa butter doesnt it's a little lighter less greasy.:j:j:j Wooooo Hooooo :j:j:j0 -
I've just seen that there's an interesting-looking programme on channel 4 tonight at 8pm: 'Dispatches- the Truth about Beauty Creams':

Oh thanks for that, HH :j ; I knew there was something I wanted to watch tonight.
I need to also mention I used the Boots Time Delay Purifying Balm last night. I have always felt an itch to try the Eve Lom one but not at that price so when I got a £5 till spit in Boots I added the difference and bought the Time Delay one.
Have read some good reviews on this product ..... so was looking forward to trying.
Very light smell and a little herby I think, although looking at the ingredients I think there is some lemon in there.
It is a greasy product but I personally like something that I can work into my face to cleanse. For me it is a product that I would use when I have time to pamper myself and not be in a rush.
I didn't use the muslin cloths that came in the box; to be honest they are pretty small and I think you could get a good result with a flannel or Liz Earle muslin cloth. You need something large enough to cover the face as you need to use this as the compress to open the pores and remove the Balm.
I liked the product but I did have a bit of irritation afterwards. Skin felt very clean and was nice before a face pack. I think this is where I went wrong with my sensitive skin in that it was "too" much in one go.
Today I have had a few spots flare up which is rare for me, but I think they were there and maybe the skin massage bought them to the fore.
There is castor oil in the product so I can only think that is similiar in the OCM on the skin. A much easier way of doing the OCM but this product has mineral oil in it so may not be ideal for a lot of you that try to avoid.
Sorry for my ramble ....

our poundland (sheffield) currently has revlon dark circles and redness correction pens (packaged as "Vital radiance"cosmetics for some reason)
I'd highly reccomend both

Hi Freejunkie- silly question, but do you put this on your hair?
No just as an alternative to Palmers for skin.
But the shops do hair n beauty and there are some fantastic hair serums and masks that would definatly rival the top brands like kerastase and redken!!!:j:j:j Wooooo Hooooo :j:j:j0 -
Just a reminder for those (like me) who are using the Aldi Siana moisturiser. The day cream has only an SPF factor 3- which is probably fine for the winter but not adequate for this lovely sunny weather.
I watched the Dispatches programme the other night and according to the experts on there, the only proven anti-ageing ingredient in a cream is a sunscreen!
I'm using a Boots Soltan sunscreen (factor 30) on top of my moisturiser when I go out. I got it last year on BOGOF (hope it's still OK to use!)0 -

It's outlandish to think that anything so flimsy as 'scientifically proven facts' will discourage the ladies from spending immorally large sums of money on useless snakeoil! 'Vanity, vanity...all is vanity'!'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it....for much longer!'0 -
