John Lewis sell Australian Organic Oil Free Moisturiser for £8.50 for 150ml. You have to be careful with the moisturiser you put on oily skin. I think its cheaper that Clinque.

Has anyone found an oil-free moisturiser? I'm eking out my Clinique Moisture Surge, which my very badly behaved skin tolerates, but I would love to find a less expensive alternative.

In John Lewis they sell Australian Organics Oil Free Moistrurisers for £8.50 for 150ml. Hope that helps!

    I've been Money Tipped!
My favourite cheap find recently is Tesco's 'Silky Soft Anti-Dandruff Shampoo', it's their version of the pink Head & Shoulders. A bottle costs only 60p and leaves my hair smelling gorgeous with a lovely shine. My sister recommended it to me- neither of us have dandruf but find this shampoo lush! I have tried the Head and Shoulders version and found it made my hair terribly greasy. With this one my hair stayss fresh for at least 2 days (I have oily hair). IMO it is better han the H&S version.

Also agree with Palmers Cocoa Butter, it makes my skin look great.:D

Another useful site I found is: www.i.village.co.uk - it's a beauty site that features a list of recommended products for under £5, just right if you need a treat that doesn't cost the earth;) .

The much recommended Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser with SPF 15 is currently 25% so even more of a bargain. I bought the Illuminating one this week and it is lovely (I think it cost about £3ish).

I have started to use Aqueous cream with liz earle cloths,in place of cleanse and polish (had to as absolutely skint!) Obviously you don't get the same lovely aroma, but my skin still 'glows' afterwards-I expect due to the action of the muslin! I have not as yet noticed my skin deteriorating in any way. I also absolutely love the Soap and Glory handcream-have in the past stocked up on one of boots' special offers and have enough to last a few moths-it really is glorious stuff, and I normally have incredibly dry hands. I use the Holland and Barrett tea tree oil, which is exactly the same one as in ABC,normally pretty expensive when I used to buy from QVC oh so long ago!
My daughter and I both love Models prefer makeup, which is actually quite cheap per item when you buy in packs from QVC.I especially love the aquafusion mascara, which I am naughty and sleep in without it smudging.
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

Has anyone on this thread tried the SBC products? I haven't (aprt from the arnica, which is very good-for me-for pain relief)and am interested to know if they are any good,as they seem so cheap for the huge pump dispensers they come in!

Just wanted to report that I've tried the lip balm from the Tesco Bnatural range and wasn't very impressed with it. The consistency is very thin and all it seems to do is 'sit' on my lips without actually moisturising (like Vaseline!).
It does give quite a nice shine, so I will probably use it to go on top of lipstick if I want a subtle shine rather than a more extreme gloss that you'd get from a lipgloss.

Still looking for a cheap alternative to the Aveda lipsaver which is fantastic for my very dry lips...will try Carmex next!

I have had a life time battle with dry lips. My saviour was finding gayle hayman lip lift. I know it's not cheap, but I am lucky that it is often on a stall at my local market for £5,or else I order it from saveonmakeup.com. To be honest though, each one lasts me around 11-12 weeks as I don't have to keep applying it and it works so well for me. (if anyone knows where to get it cheaper please let me know!)

Try here http://www.directcosmetics.com/results/products.cfm?ctype=SK&range=Gale%20Hayman - you can get Lip Lift Limited Edition & Hydrating Gel Masks x 3 for £6.99 :T :T :T . I've ordered from them for years and they're very quick.

To quote from my previous post,

"About £6-7 for 75ml and lasts ages, Pond's Regener-Activ day treatment is excellent. It's also very moist, has a lovely texture, feels great on the skin and has the added bonus of having SPF 15 plus all the ingredients I look for."

I can only recommend this as a light, lovely feeling cream that absorbs well. I assume the SPF factor is what Ponds say it is and have to take that as read.

Where do you get this from, treliac? I've looked in Boots and they don't have it.
