Hi folks- have been away and busy with work, sorry I haven't had time to update first post 'til now. Many thanks everyone for continuing to contribute!

Just an update- have been trying the 'oil cleansing method' for a few weeks now (25% castor oil, 3 times a week). At first it was good and I thought it was beginning to minimise my pores. However unfortunately it began to bring me out in large 'blind' spots, even though I've persevered with it in case it was just a case of my skin adjusting. My skin doesn't seem to like it so I think I'll probably stop using it...or maybe I'll increase the % of castor oil? I'm not sure what's best really.

Anyway, I've also started using Lush Ultrabland cleanser- will report back on that in a while.

    Whats a blind spot?

I've read the Boots Time Delay cleansing balm is a rip off of the Eve Lom cleanser, but its on offer in Boots, so its never in stock:mad:

    I do 30% castor oil;)

Update - haven't been able to find the Ponds (although I haven't asked in the shop) the Aldi cream started making my face burn and I have now switched to using Astral as a night cream, which is great and only 99p for a small tub

Like one of them ones that you can feel under your skin & is a bit tender, but you can't really see much more than a small raised lump.

Well, they're actually quite big and red!! And I've got one on the bridge of my nose so it's pretty noticeable. Plus one on my forehead and a couple on my chin!!:o

    Yeah, that's about it.

How are you getting on with the OCM, MrsE?

Ooh, saw this on another thread and got some today.
Not strictly a 'cheap but good' one, more an 'expensive good one on very cheap offer', but thought you guys might want to know anyway:

Benefit lipgloss - 'Her Glossiness' free with Glamour magazine at the moment - £2, normally lipgloss is £13, and it's really nice!

    There are 3 different ones:

a mid pink, very nice one called 'who are you wearing?'
a very pale pink/nude, 'didn't hear it from me'
    and a clear/purpley-pink one, which I don't know what it's called as I didn't get it, lol.

The names are on the top of the box it's in, so you can check it before you buy, though you can't see the colour as it's in a box and the magazine is sealed in a bag.
I'm very happy with my bargain buy!

Yeah I like it & its great for my heavy duty mascara.

    But I've got a theory........

    OCM - oils & a muslin cloth.
Liz Earle - a blend of oils & balms (theres NO soaps in it) & a muslin cloth
Tesco bnatural liz-earle-look-a-like - as Liz Earle above.
Eve Lom - a blend of oils & balms (theres NO soaps in it) & a muslin cloth
Boots time delay cleansing balm - as Eve Lom above.

All of these NEW trendy methods are the same thing, the prices vary & the consistancy & packaging, but basically I think they are just the same thing.

    Anyone agree?

Hello harryharp, just wanted to let you know that I have used Ultrabland from Lush and it ruined my skin. Made it really oily and really enlarged the pores on my cheeks. This was about a year and a half ago and my pores have never gone back to their original size *sigh*

Obviously different products work for different people, but I wanted to share my experience just in case.

Btw, been using the oil cleansing method for 3 weeks now and there is a definite improvement in my skin. most of my spots have gone and my skin is noticeably finer
Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!
