Is it sad to re-read your own diary from the beginning?
Oh well, it might be sad but it's what I'm doing but there is a reason; I want to go back and check any goals I may have had that I've not acheived so that I can think further about if they are still valid and why I might not have achieved them. I also want to note the ones that I have achieved, I think once i've done that I'll be in a better place to think about goals for 2010 as I think this is going to be a bit of a tough year for me as I've started it by borrowing 10k on stooze to pay for shares
I think I'll just list them below as I come across them then revisit and edit this post laterMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18
Original Mortgage o/s £187,643 / £71,904 (-115,739)
Repay o/s £92,661 / now £55,900 (-36,761)
Int Only o/s £94,982, now £16,004 (-78,978)
Total daily interest £1 [a) £0.77 b)£0.23
Total OP's:2018 target £TBC YTD £1,9950 -
Previous goals and plans and milestones as mentioned in my thread since it began
- 09/04/2008 Change jobs within next 12 months
- Well this didn't happen, with economy changes etc I didn't think this was a good move. I would however like to change my role this year but within the same company
- 09/04/2008 Make OP's of £1500 in 2008
- In the end I made OP's of £4,850 but to be fair the £1500 was my first stab before I'd looked at all my figures
- 11/04/2008 Pay mortgage off in ten years time, MFW date of 1/8/18
- Yes, this is still the plan!
- 05/05/2008 May need to change car in next 12 months
- I ended up changing the car in December 2008 as more and more small things were going wrong and I was pleased with the deal I got
- 05/05/2008 Look into repayments if were to move all or some of mortgage onto repayment terms
- I did get the figures for this but decided not to do it at the time although it is still something I would consider in the future it doesn't make much sense for me to do at the moment considering the rate reductions
- 22/06/2008 Look into pension provisions
- Oops still not done this and there have been some changes to my pension scheme in the last month so I still really need to do this!
- 08/08/2008 Sort sharedealing situation out!
- Errm, bit embarrased to admit this but it's still outstanding!
- 08/08/2008 Between Jan and June 09 make £500 pm OP's
- Achieved this
- 08/08/2008 From July 09 make £800 pm OP's
- No, didn't achieve this and in fact only made an average of £411 OP's per month
- 20/08/02008 Look at BTL rate that was due to expire in December
- Yes, I did this and it was cheaper to let it roll over onto the SVR
- 03/09/2008 Increase 2008 OP target to £2700 and hope to make £6000 OP's in 2009
- £4850 OP's made in 2008 and £5470 in 2009
- 03/09/2008 Mention future plan of selling BTL
- Would still like to do this but credit crunch / propertly slump happened so I've put off doing anything about this for the time being
- 15/09/2008 First mention selling a few spare books on ebay
- I did sell approx 30 books on ebay over 2008 and 2009, however, since they've introduced the free P&P charges there is no financial incentive to do this
- 28/09/2008 Arrange refund of old gas account for £38.76
- OMG, I can't remember whether I did this - must look into it!
- 03/10/2008 First stooze of £20,000
- 03/10/2008 Look into obtaining cash for old mobile phones
- Yes, I did get rid of 2 phones of no value and some money back on another 3 but I think I've got at least another 5 that I could send off...
- 18/10/2088 Mention changing car again and spending 2-3k
- As above - changed Dec 08
- 21/08/2009 Use £1000 of stooze money to OP mortgage
- 23/08/2008 Aim to have IO part at less than 90k by end of 2008
- The IO part ended the year at £90,422 so I didn't quite meet my target but as I'd brought it down form £94,976 I was still quite pleased
- 06/10/2008 £3480.51 on shares (money borrowed from stooze!)
- 23/10/2008 Letter sent to share company re holding anomaly
- As already commented this is still not sorted!
- 28/10/2008 Set stretch target of getting total mortgage balance to £180k by end of 2008
- I didn't quite manage this as I'd already borrowed money from stooze pot but I did end 2008 owing a total of £181,081 from £188,114 so I was still quite pleased with that as I only started OP'ing in the April
- 28/10/2008 Spend further £2198.61 on shares
- 18/11/2008 Confirmed that BTL will move to SVR when rate expires, this will be less that was paying so plan to mlae OP's to the BTL for the first time to keep payments the same
- 26/11/2008 Progress sharedealing anomaly - again!
- Hmm, getting embarrasing now....
- 18/12/2008 Hold off OP'ing BTL for six months to increase reserve account
- 18/12/2008 Confirmed total of £22,800 stoozed in 2008
- 19/12/2008 Chart where spare money goes - spending diary?
- I did do this for about three months, no particular revelations
- 19/12/2008 Start BTL OP's on BTL mid 2009
- 19/12/2008 Get 0% on purchases credit card
- I got one of these 20 2009
- 19/12/2008 Want PS3!!!!!
- Phew, Santa Claus brought me one of these so I didn't have to buy one
- 19/12/2008 Get book collection valued
- I contacted a valuer in Jan 2009 but despite a promising conversation with me over the phone he never got back to me when I emailed details, nor did he repond to follow up emails and this subsequently dropped off my radar
- I contacted a valuer in Jan 2009 but despite a promising conversation with me over the phone he never got back to me when I emailed details, nor did he repond to follow up emails and this subsequently dropped off my radar
- 20/12/2008 State no plans to make any further share purchases in the short to mid term
- Ho, ho, ho, see further posts....
- 24/12/2008 Mention book values in view of potentially having to increase insurance cover
Just 2009 to do now and then I'll follow that up with 2010 plansMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Right, after that super long earlier post I need to get round to looking at 2009 as I'm keen to list my 2010 goals and plans. I don't know that I'm in the right mood at the moment to go right through my diary for 2009....
I'm trapped in the house with the snow today and this is the 4th consecutvie day. Being in all this time doesn't bother me though and I did some cooking earlier, I made a spicy carrot soup with sun-dried tomato and ham twists made with puff pastry. The twists were yummy and I can see how easy it would be to make many variations on a theme. Sadly the soup was dissapointing and I won't be making it again but I enjoyed being in the kitched as it doesn't often happen with working away.MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

I'm just going to list some random wishes for 2010 then I'll tidy them up once I've finished my 2009 review
- Gas and electricity usage - input usage monthly onto on-line accounts system so that bills are always accurate. Also track it on my spreadsheet so that I can make comparisons not to mentions make pretty graphs
- Keep an eye on free listing days on ebay to sell some more books
- Look into ebid to see if they are more viable / profitable than ebay
- My target for the MFiT T2 challenge is to reduce IO part from £85,000 to £45,000 so I need to review plans for this
