Hurrah, my MFW quest has started

I've just realised that I made my very first MSE and MFW post 6th April 2008 so my diary has just past it's second birthday - happy birthday to me diary
My spreadsheet tells me that in that time I've reduced the balance by £18,496.87 which I think is absolutely amazing, particularly as I've had holidays, changed my car, not done any real cutting backand bought about £23k of shares (albeit £10k are not yet paid for as on stooze!)
This all just shows me what can be possible for me if I don't buy shares or change my car! :rotfl:MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Well I've finally got round to ringing Br Gas to reduce my monthly electricity direct debit to £8. They are also going to refund the £40 I am in credit by so that's another little bit for my accountsMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Well the £40 refund arrived in my account yesterday, sadly they also sent me a letter confirmed they had amended my dd to £18... they are supposed to be reducing it from 10 to 8 not increasing it to 18. Deep sigh, looks like another phone call, why can't things be done right first time :mad:MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

I've tackled another little money task this week. I have a PEP from years ago with shares in it, obvioulsy PEPs are obsolete now and it's really an ISA but as I didn't officially tranfer the contents I wasn't allowed to add to it but this didn't bother me as I then opened share ISA's.
So in the PEP is £120 cash which was dividends from the shares. Now you're not allowed to take the cash out if it's less than £250 but as those particular shares have had their dividends suspended for the last 18 months the cash equity has not been increasing. So I found myself in a catch 22 situation of not being able to take the money out and it's not going to increase at all to £250.
So, this week I've got them to agree that if I send them a cheque for £130 to make up the balance to £250 they will then send me £250. Seems madness ay but it appears it's the only way I can get my hands on the money and use it to better effect.MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Hi all
I've made my usual OP of £500 this month taking me to 34% of my OP target this year so I'm behind where I should be.
This month I've repaid the 0% spending stooze I had which totalled £3132. My original plan with this card was to keep the monthly repayments separate whilst they earned interest but in the end I didn't keep them separate to I've no idea how much interest I gotI don't intend doing the 0% slow stooze again for the foreseeable future.
I've also repaid the big stooze of £10,250 this month. Well, actually 'repaid' is not quite true as I have re-arranged £8k of it which is the final bit left of my share buying extravaganza last year. This means that I will continue to OP by £500 a month whilst building up funds to repay the £8k then that's it, no more stoozing for me until interest rates change! Also, just think of how much I can increase my OP's by when the stooze has gone, this is why I'm not overly concerned about being behind on my year to date targets as well as my MFiT T2 target
I've also got another tenant ready to move into my other place, they've signed up for six months at £750 a month and my letting agent thinks they will probably stay longer; all in all it's good to know that it's occupied until the end of the year.MFW Start Date 1.4.08.
