What else can I cook in the oven whilst....

I have to say I am really bad at doing this. I frequently put the oven on just to cook one thing. Mind you, if I am baking I will try to do a few batches of things at a time. Need to get organised.
BTW, what did I end up doing yesterday along with my lasagne? Not a thing!!!!!! Dh phoned from work and I ended up running around like a headless chicken and just about remembered to bung the lasagne in the oven before a long walk to the post office before it shut! The best laid plans, and all that!!!!!!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Where did you get yours? I have been looking for one for ages. Even my local specialist kitchen shop doesn't know where to get one from. Cheers!
We have one that I bought for OH as a CHristmas present our first year together. It was a gift set from Boots, with the stone base, pizza slicer, jar of sun dried tomatoes and jar of olives (I think). I'm pretty sure they do them every year, and it was less than 30 quid I think.
Incidentally, we've never pre-heated it, and it's been fine. OH says it noticably improves the crispiness of the pizza, and keeps it hotter for longer (I don't eat pizza)
ETA: This is it http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/75/6/AAAAAqiSXpUAAAAAAHVt4g.jpg?v=1191493968000 They aren't selling it again yet, but expect it will be available shortly. And it seems that the price was under 20 quid! Bargain!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hello everyone!
Long time lurker on the board, I think the OS style of living is great and have really noticed a general sense of calmness/wellbeing since I've started to follow all your advice (me and bf moved into our first house together 6 months ago and have been at it since then).
I'm looking for ideas/inspiration as to some cooking I'll be doing later on tonight. We're having pie for tea, I'll make 4/6 individual portions which we can freeze to eat at a later date. I'm also planning on whacking in some cookie dough I have in the fridge. I really want to pack the oven full though, and am struggling to think of what else to put in there...don't know why but my food brain has ground to a halt. I don't want to do bread as we have a few loaves in the freezer...don't want to do anything cake-y really, unless it can be frozen as we'll have the cookies plus trying to watch our waistlines at the mo!!
Can anyone think of anything??? We have looooots of fruit and veg in at the mo, the only meat is chicken thighs (which are going in the pies) and some bacon, I'm pretty well stocked for baking (butter, eggs, flour etc) and in terms of "food cupboard" supplies....surely there must be hundreds of things I can do!! I reckon I have 2 spare shelves to fill.
Any suggestions would be greatly recieved

You could make some pastry cases and bake "blind" for quiches or lemon meringue later or a sponge cake which can be frozen.
If I've got the oven I will try to cook the potatoes for the meal-either baked or roast-in it.0 -
Hi lauroar,
What about some of the veg to have oven roasted veg that you could freeze to use in recipes at a later date, or a fruit crumble which also freezes well?
This thread has lots more ideas:

I'll add your thread to it later to keep the replies together.

Thanks for the suggestions guys and for the link Pink, and TrixieB - I lolled (there's no denying the advantages of your own space though!).
I'm thinking a veggie lasagne might be the answer plus some jacket potatoes. We have an apple tree outside so maybe a crumble too....see I just needed some gentle encouragement to get the ideas flowing
Lots of OS love

I got one of these extendible baking tray I can adjust it so I can slide it into the oven on the grooves, just like an extra shelf. Check your oven isn't wider than 52cm, and it should work.+++ Divide By Cucumber Error. Please Reinstall Universe And Reboot +++
