I swapped from being a housewife to a house parent and it gives a small saving of £6.70 but if i change it to house person i save £12!!! Would never think of doing this as i always put my occupation as housewife and have never thought of any other titles to describe myself, thanks Martin makes me think out of the box now, great!!!:D
Describing yourself wrongly isn't money saving, it's fraudulent and not clever!0 -
i put my call centre job in as technical and nothing happened just listed technical in option 4, there was no option 3things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I picked Administrator as my job title, yet if I was a Secretary/PA (my role does include PA duties) I could save £4.10 and if I was Administration Staff I could save £24. Think I know what to put next time!
Also, "Blinds Assembler" might be more appropriate than "Blind Assembler" ... unless there are actually factories full of poorly-sighted people putting things together!! Hehe
Oops ... just tried to change the sector for the job I picked ... I've broken it!! It says "When an XXX pays XXX..." and then the drop down area doesn't load up. I've tried going back and picking another job but the same thing happens! Oh dear ... lol ... sorry!
Interesting though thx

piglet29 I wasn't getting at you personally
. It was a general point for anyone interested in this thread ... and I'm sure that it will be covered on the website when the job checker goes live. People don't need to be encouraged to mislead their insurers - they do quite well enough at that already.
I'm pleased to say that my occupation, as I currently disclose it, comes right at the bottom of the similar job descriptions, so I don't need to even consider changing anything!0 -
Give up being a manager, is what I am finding!
My job title is Resources Coordinator, which I didn't expect to exist. I don't have to manage people (thankfully) but I do 'manage' everything that's not people, and I used to be Administrator, so I tried variations on Admin and Manager, and it seems to me that it pays NOT be too senior!
It can be quite tricky: one of my brothers used to be an electrician, working for the local theatre. Saying he was a theatre electrician used to up his quote considerably, because (at least in those days!) anything remotely 'arty' was always a higher risk!
It is a fascinating tool - why is a 'mature student' more of a risk than a 'student'?Why is a baptist minister such a high risk? And what are monks supposed to get up to - they're even dearer to insure than students! :rotfl:

As a Full Time eBayer I called classed as a Data Administrator, change it to a computer programmer & I save £47
Although I had previously played about with job titles when renewing my car inurance's
A full time eBayer is not a computer programmer! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
MarkyMarkD - I agree entirely with you. This (in my view) is extremely dangerous territory.0
