You didn't offend, well not me anyway! Just putting a point across that sometimes aborting a pregnancy is taken for granted. Everyone concentrates on how expensive babies are, pets are expensive to and they also need alot of love and attention...mommamoney wrote: »If you want a baby the money will not matter. You will get by and make it work. Get rid of the dog and save on the dog food , vets bills, pet insurance etc. I know people see pets as part of the family but if you find it cold hearted saying get rid of the dog, think how cold hearted it is saying you want a baby but you may take the pill for finacial reasons. quote]
Sorry if I offend when I say this but its attitudes like this that give us cat and dog homes that are bursting at the seams and healthy animals having to be put down just because the owners don't want them any more. A pet is a lifetime commitment as well.By this time next year we'll be millionaires......
Personal challenge- Make an extra£5 a day for May from may 6th....and not spend it!0 -
I think you could ask a person if they where pregnant or suspecting they were pregnant in an interview sometimes - such as if the job they are going for would be doing something that could harm the baby such as dangerous chemicals or heavy lifting etc. This could be a big threat to the safety of the pregnancy and also health and safety etc.
If someone is already employed in a job that is unsuitable to do whilst pregnant ( there are some jobs even though we like to come across as invicible) and becomes pregnant whilst working there, the employer must do its best to find an alternative job.By this time next year we'll be millionaires......

re: DDA and applying for a job.
You can refuse to disclose a disability on the application form just like you can refuse to answer the ethnic origin questions. If you need reasonable adjustments then these can be discussed any time after the job is offered. Firing someone for not declaring a disability is illegal.
That's from the disability discrimination act for the record and has been confirmed to me by a qualified lawyer and an employment tribunal.0 -

and if they can’t find an alternative they should suspend you on H&S grounds which obviously attracts normal pay and benefits0
