Is the double the difference (or any refund come to that) still available if Tesco's prices aren't the cheapest?
  • is there a price match in place at the moment?
  • No price match on fuel.

I don't know, but i'd be interested to find out.

I very much doubt it though, because my local Asda is very close to Tesco (in sight of it) and Tesco is always 1 or 2 pence more expensive.

No chance - Tesco are !!!!ing sharks with petrol - wouldn't touch them even if they were cheapest.

No need to worry as they never will be. In local area Tesco are 112.9, local competitors are 111.9, 110.9 and Morrisons & Shell 108.9

I too have noticed this can often be so, depending on local competition.

You don't mention the difference that the Loyalty Points make though. Morrisons give none, Sainsbury give points worth 1% of purchase with very limited opportunities to make them more valuable. Tesco give double points worth at least 2% off and Clubcard offers a wide enough range of deals to allow you to make that worth up to 8% if you're savvy enough.

The big T still gets my custom.
  • thefirs - Morrisons do give you points. You can get a black and yellow card which gives you points when you fill up fuel, when you reach a certain amount you get a five pound voucher you can spend in store. Some people save them up for Xmas but at the moment I spend mine when I get it as I am a bit short of cash at the mo so a fiver off my shopping is good. Sadly you can't get use the fiver voucher off your fuel, which would be good!

Price of petrol is terrible at the mo, using it for getting to work and trying not to go very far at all when I'm not at work, just too expensive.

Our local Tesco is consistently at least 4 pence dearer that 2 garages less than 2 miles away - I would only ever use them when the 5 pence off with a £50 promotion is on
  • where is this policy written, I cant find it on their website before I challenge them!
