Has anyone been refused the double cotton wool cosmetic pads in the 2 for £2 offer-They were priced at £2.39 each but with the sign saying £2 for 2.The sa refused to accept this and said that would be ridiculous and charged me for each pack also wouldn't accept the bourjois voucher for nail polish so had to pay £7.38 cash.Felt like leaving the items but there was a big queue and I had gone downstairs to pay so had to pay up.
That's way out of order. The sign says 'all' cotton wool and pads not the ones the SA chooses for you!
I managed to get the same cotton wool today with no problem.
I would take the stuff back with the receipt and ask for a refund.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0 -
When she put them through the till, didn't they come up as 2 for £2, the cotton wool roll at £3.15 is on the same offer on .com?
I'm quite sure it came up but tha sa muttered "ridiculous" and charged me full price, also refused to even scan the cosmetic voucher.I hate scenes so I left it at that but will go back tomorrow and ask for a refund.I managed to thank you while quotingLove can tame the wildest0 -
Okay, help needed from Bootsing mums.
Daughter ...proud owner of hip length uberfine hair...has got nits. Despite having had three kids this is the first case of nits I've ever encountered in my kids and it had to happen to the girl...the boys would have been off for a No2 buzz cut as soon as I'd noticed and that would have helped a lot with treatment.
Anyhow, what to Boots sell that will kill the little b****rs stone dead with the least amount of hassle and the maximum amount of instant death? I have no objections to chemical warfare, given that they lead a pretty unpolluted lifestyle the rest of the time and are not sickly or allergic to anything.
I work in a Primary school so always getting asked by parents about the best way to get rid--colleague is a hairdresser in her spare time and reckons only way is use conditioner( any thickish stuff will do) and a comb and do it every day for at least a week . The whole family need to be done as the little blighters crawl onto new heads. They also survive for up to 48 hours off of the head so change all bedding and 60 wash it . The old wives tale about them liking clean hair is rubbish --they'll live anywhere!0 -

research has shown that hedrin(a non chemical treatment that works by smothering the lice )is just as effective as the chemical ones such as derbac . you can get this on the minor ailments
you can also get the nitty gritty comb free on this as well
would advise checking with the comb(on wet hair with lots of conditioner ) on a regular basis from now on as these things tend to perpetuaute as it only takes one parent not to bother treating and everyone else keeps getting reinfested
by the way edinburgh fort is open till 8pm
Lol...well, I wish I'd read this post before I went up to Fort. I just bought both Hedrin and a Nitty Gritty comb! Oh well.....c`est la vie.
I thought I had a pretty good Bootsing nit shop too...
Hedrin £11.49
Nitty Gritty comb £9.99
Fructis conditioner 241 £2.99
Head Lice Repellent spray £1 from Clearance.
Set of three pink hair scrunchies (bribe) £4.50
Plus five boxes of Aria One-a-Day Soya Isaflavenes + vitamin supplements (for the menopause)from Clearance at £1 per box, coded till 2010...when I went up to Pharmacy the SA told me cheerfully they had been reduced in error, really they should have been £20 per box. She was quite happy to give me them for £1 each though. I felt them doing me good immediately!
This lot came to £34.97 but the vitamins kicked in as 342, plus I had a healthclub £1 off voucher so £32.97. And of course the vitamins should have cost me £100, not £4! And I got 250 points for a £30+ spend, plus 150 ACM voucher points for the haircomb so 400 points in all.
Pity I didn't know about the free nit stuff, but oh well....
Also my little princess had a happy ten minutes fiddling around with the No17 testers. I stopped her immediately though when I caught her drifting over to the Arden counter...the Arden lady was round like a shot and I thought oh-oh (even though Princess hadn't touched anything) but in fact she was lovely. Princess told her the whole story of the nits (as one does when you're six) and the Arden lady gave her a lipstick sample pallette to cheer her up, lol! And she gave me one too! So definate thumbs up to the Arden lady, and kudos to my daughter...she's obviously a chip off the old block when it comes to blagging samples.
PS. They've still got nail kits on the No7 counter in Fort btw. Only two though...and when I bought what I thought were the last two a few days back they told me they had none left in the back shop. Maybe they're only putting out two at a time so we can't get 342? Meanies....Val.0 -

One of the major differences between Hedrin and other products like Lyclear, Derbac etc is that with Hedrin, the lice cannot become immune to the ingredients whereas with all the others they can. I've always recommended Hedrin since I tried it when it first came out and can honestly say it is good stuff. Hedrin works but creating a 'bubble' around the lice and sufficates them, hence they cannot become immune to it.0
