Okay, help needed from Bootsing mums.
Daughter ...proud owner of hip length uberfine hair...has got nits. Despite having had three kids this is the first case of nits I've ever encountered in my kids and it had to happen to the girl...the boys would have been off for a No2 buzz cut as soon as I'd noticed and that would have helped a lot with treatment.
Anyhow, what to Boots sell that will kill the little b****rs stone dead with the least amount of hassle and the maximum amount of instant death? I have no objections to chemical warfare, given that they lead a pretty unpolluted lifestyle the rest of the time and are not sickly or allergic to anything.Val.0 -
Elisamoose "Interesting to see that Boots are checking on line --how did they know it was you?"
Just been reading the old thread, Boots are not stupid and like tesco used to scan the tesco thread boots probably do this one.
I for one don't think it was a coinsidence that the med glitch got fixed, as we compiled a list showing them it was a major major glitch.
The thing is as long as we are not doing anything illegal and are pleasant to all the staff, it's just a good game to play.
Boots surely are aware of alot of the glitches, but as has been mentioned before we spend alot of money in there to cover up said glitches so it's win win for them.
The med bags at £15 were i feel too much for them to overlook and we do not want boots to adjust it's more than generous offers or jeopardise what is by far the best reward card on the market. I mean where else do you spend £5 and get given £5 or £2 back to spend instore? Think about it.
Long may the fantastic offers and glitches continue.0 -

You have my sympathies! My daughter has mega thick waist length hair and had nits a few years ago. I tried all of the liquid nit killers and also the battery operated nit zapper all to no avail! The only way I got rid of them was using the Asda Nit tea tree oil - called Hair Lice Hair Conditioner and combing it through every night using a nit comb whilst still wet and picking the little !!!!!!s out by hand! It took about an hour every night for a week but eventually we got rid and I now I check every couple of days just in case!

Just my .com order and got one of these free. Have placed many orders before but never got anything free before i know its not much but it made my day :j http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1084235&classificationid=1041385&slmRefer=000
I'm expecting my .com order and wouldn't mind getting this. I know they did a "get this free" promotion with this product some time ago but mine was never included in the order I placed so here's hoping I get it now.0 -

The Nitty Gritty comb from Boots is available to buy or on prescription from your GP or Nurse Practitioner. It will get out all the nits and lice if used on wet hair with tons of conditioner. It has spiral teeth that do a really effective job, highly recommended for any hair type and it won't damage her hair.
If you want to use a lotion then our practice nurse recommended Full Marks lotion, it's one that you leave in overnight so it has more chance to work first time. I've tried Lyclear Cream rinse on DD too, only has to stay on for 15 minutes but works fine. Recommend that you check her hair again a week after any chemical treatment to check for lurkers. They can become resistant though so the pharmacy will tell you which is the most effective lotion currently, different insecticides in each.
The pharmacies in this part of the country have a scheme whereby if you bring them a louse stuck on a piece of sellotape on paper they will give you chemical treatment free of charge for kids or anyone else who would usually qualify for free prescriptions. Might be worth checking with your pharmacy if they do that in your part of the country too.0 -
I too give my sympathies!
Gladly in the past now, but as mum of the No1 nit attractor (or so it seemed for many months!) i can agree that tea tree oil and products which contain it seem to be the best.
Keep going with lots of conditioner, section the hair to make it easier.
A good telly programme for her to watch will reduce the cries of "you're pulling" and "are you finished?"
She's now a young leader at beaver scouts, and is still using tea tree hair products, "just incase mum, don't want them again!!!"
Good luck x~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~£2008 for 2008 No 682 / [strike]still on the starting blocks!!![/strike]:rotfl::j yippee - almost gave up hope - £3750 holiday membership :j0 -
