Okay, help needed from Bootsing mums.

Daughter ...proud owner of hip length uberfine hair...has got nits. Despite having had three kids this is the first case of nits I've ever encountered in my kids and it had to happen to the girl...the boys would have been off for a No2 buzz cut as soon as I'd noticed and that would have helped a lot with treatment.

Anyhow, what to Boots sell that will kill the little b****rs stone dead with the least amount of hassle and the maximum amount of instant death? I have no objections to chemical warfare, given that they lead a pretty unpolluted lifestyle the rest of the time and are not sickly or allergic to anything.

After years and years of experience of this-as a mum and a teacher-truly the best thing Ive found, as an early poster said, is the plastic comb(not the metal one) and conditioner. Some of the chemicals in the med. ones are equivalant to weedkiller and overuse has led to rampant immunity in the nit kingdom. Not that they have councils of war or anything to decide on best method of attack they're just genetically programmed to survive. So weapons of mass desctruction are having less and less of an affect !!!!!!!!

If you really go to town on it over a few days then she'll be ok but just like Boots glitches-though no where near as much fun-once one lot has gone another lot will come along!!!!!!!!.

You need to set up an emergency nit pack

    1. Huge cheap bottle of conditioner
    2. Stash of nit combs
    3. Huge expensive bottle of wine.

The last ones not for DD-hope she won't need it anyway-its for you to throw down your neck when the boredom sets in!!!!

    Goodluck
    I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks very much for all the nit tips, ladies! (And anyone else.)

I'm beginning to be aware though that I've committed that hanging-rated forum sin though...causing the thread to go off topic! And frankly I didn't expect so big a response. You're all too helpful!

So while I'm extremely grateful for all the help, can I ask we stop talking about it now? CPG only lives twenty or so miles from me and she might get upset.....

Jst before we go on topic, I have boys but 2 years ago bought a comb the same as the nitty gritty one that boots do (and there is an offer on the acm for it too atm), it is great at removing the eggs too and in fact my neighbour who has a daughter with waist length thick hair, borrowed in once (desperate times when they could not find their comb) and was so impressed she went out the next day and bought one herself.
It has like little spirals that the eggs get caught in.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Also, the Ted Baker bags everyone is talking about, are they marked as reduced, or do they just go through the till cheaper than they say? Thanks :)

This depends on the store, you should get it price checked.
Will not spend more money:naughty:, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!
