As a late night treat my partner eats the raisins out of the musli packet.
Apparently they taste completely different and she will not eat plain raisins.
Much better for her than chocolate!
I have two favs for cheap meals.
2 Slices of thick white bread buttered, one large onion fried with a little sugar until almost black placed on top, then gravy all over! Superb.
Triple decker sandwich - Bread - butter - salad cream - Cheese & onion crisps scrunched in the packet, then poured and held in place by salad cream - bread - Philadelphia cheese - salami - Bread, the ultimate!!!0 -
the tuna & pita thing sounds like regular lunch here! we like it
rice & mayo I love too, & add a few capers &/or a handful of Bombay Mix or other Asian snack, delicious
OH turned his nose up at it, but that was all there was and I didn't think it was that odd a mixture, so he went hungry. It was very tasty and nutritious, and having thought about it I've given it to the kids in a wrap before, minus the gherkins, and they seemed to like it0 -

Small tin tuna (pref in olive oil, which I pour off) eaten direct from tin. Probably standing up. If my tin opener didn't leave such sharp edges I would lick out the tin....nasty, eh ?0

For me, porridge - none of that processed powery stuff either, you want big REAL oats (the smaller surface area of the powdered 'instant' oats means that its GI index is much worse, whereas rolled oats take a while to be digested and are an excellent source of slow-burning energy). You don't even need milk or heat. Just add some water and hey presto! Food for 5p.0
