    Mmm...

    I love:

Brown sauce sarnies (Daddies is best!)
    Fish finger sarnies
Mashed potato sarnies, hot creamy mash with really thickly buttered white bread! (though not any more cos losing weight!)
Bread and lamb dripping, with a little salt on top
Gypsy toast (beat egg, drop bread into it and fry. Another one not being eaten at the mo!) Serve with sugar.
Leftover veg heated in the oven, sprinkled with cheese for extra zing.
Pasta with olive oil and garlic. So nice!!!
Home made spicy wedges, cut spud into wedges, dry, add a tablesppon of oil and toss the wedges, sprinkle over spicy mix of equal parts salt, onion granules, garlic granules and chilli powder, (extra can be stored in a dry place) and bake, turning a couple of times while baking them in a hot oven for about 30 mins. Very good for you!

Will no doubt think of others....! Hungry now for some reason...!

Oh and sometimes I cut a hole in the middle of a slice of bread, and lob it in a frying pan. Drop an egg in the hole and you get some nice fried bread and fried egg combo. Add lashings of ketchup before serving. Haut cuisine!

Ooh egg in the hole, my mum used to make this all the time! yum!

For me, porridge - none of that processed powery stuff either, you want big REAL oats (the smaller surface area of the powdered 'instant' oats means that its GI index is much worse, whereas rolled oats take a while to be digested and are an excellent source of slow-burning energy). You don't even need milk or heat. Just add some water and hey presto! Food for 5p.
what's that about oats? do you mean proper oatmeal?

I'd complety forgotten about my staple standby, porridge, made with water & salt]

    i thinik i fell asleep
  • Cheap meals only i'll eat:

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
A quick delicous snack or meal (for me) is one or two toasted potato waffles (in a toaster is quick) Slice or two of ham with a tomato sliced or wedged, and an egg, boiled, fried, poached, suit yourself. Delicious.
