That's not childish at all, that's traditional!
Lovely area, DH and I grew up nearby (his school cross country route was through Greenwich Park!) and his parents are still there. We're back there in August for a lunch at the Naval College! I suppose I should think about what to wear ...

Our home exchange in September has been cancelled due to the woman being taken ill, so tht's that bit of SKI-ing out.
However, we are now doing the opposite to SKI-ing in September and are dog-sitting for some friends who insist on paying us.:) We would do it for free, but as they say they have always had to pay professional dog-sitters so they are quite happy to pay us and save the agency fee.:)
They know my husband is good with dogs and so they get a dogsitter, the dogs get a temporary new pack leader, my husband gets some dogs to walk, we both get a little break and our friends go to stay with their friends in France. Everybody happy!
If they are pleased with the way we've done the job, we are going to ask them to recommend us to their friends as house, dog and small animal sitters for the months we are in the UK (not baby sitters though:rotfl:) - we can have a little holiday and earn some money!
We're house sitting foranother couple of friends at the moment and looking after their python (luckily a small one ) and fish.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Glad things are working out 7DW
We are on our way back from Spain, currently at Rouen, managed to get Campanile instead of Premiere Classe at a much reduced rate 24€ off by pre-booking/paying.
Starting our 'vanning breaks next weekend, though the weather is currently carp.

Just in process of changing our car. The little red 03 Peugeot did us proud, all round the wilder areas of western Ireland and never let us down, but DH noticed a car in a local showroom which is a year younger than ours - 04 - but it has only done approx 10,000 miles! It's a 4-door Ghia Fiesta, a bit of an upgrade on the Peugeot, so we decided we'd have it. So we'll have a different car for our next 'away', which is in a fortnight's time, the English Democrats' Conference in Nottingham. Then we're going up to Yorkshire in October for a family history weekend, then away over Christmas in the Belgian Ardennes.
DH is so credit-worthy - he needed to borrow £2K and that was agreed in a heartbeat, and he intends to pay it off quicker than the 2 years.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Sounds a good deal Margaret! We are hoping our 13-year-old Alhambra lasts until August 2014 when I will get the lump sum from my Local Government pension!.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Ski-ing off to the USA tomorrow!
DS is marrying lovely GF, so we'll have a few days at the beach and 10 days at their place.
