I think for two pins we would pack the car and drive to Spain. DG

There's two pins in the post for you.
    What's stopping you now?
Go to Madrid and treat yourself to some 18K jewelry, good prices.

Just back from 3 days ski-ing in Glasgow. The weather forecast showed rain for the duration of our visit and if it hadn't been for the fact that I'd paid up front for a 4* hotel I wouldn't have bothered going (got the flights cheap). It turned out the weather was lovely and we really enjoyed the trip so you can't always rely on the forecast. Had some lovely meals and other than that treated myself to new sunglasses so nothing too extreme.

Back to lovely weather, thank god!! Had a great afternoon yesterday; pottered about the front and side garden and enjoyed the distraction of chatting to people passing. Then two friends called, separately, so opened a bottle of prosecco in the garden.

When the weather is good Wales can best any where. ( Shame it doesn't happen more often.) Hope Wolverhampton is better, SDW.

I've just skated a big lump of cash on a conservatory and it's complete bliss. :j:j I've had lunch in it every day since it was finished and meals on wheels can deliver via the back gate when the time comes :D
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Errata, that sounds terrific! Enjoy!

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

OH and I are in dispute over a conservatory.
He would like one: I think £10,000, which it would probably cost, would pay for a ot of trips to see DS in the USA and to other exciting places.

Simple. Buy OH a nice greenhouse, some grow-bags and a few bottles of wine.

Then go to USA with the 9,000 left.

    I like it , Digger! :D

We have sort of back porch, where I have a small table, 1 comfy chair and two upright garden chairs. It's ideal I think! And we still have the cash!

Wine is always well-stocked! Home Bargains in Flint is good, as is local Tesco for offers. ( I am trying to resist at present. Far too much flab.)

I am enjoying the start of my retirement. Am over here in Northern Cyprus at the moment by myself. OH went home on Friday as he does not like the extreme heat, but is likely to come back with DD soon. Other friends arrive this Friday. I am just pottering, between the town, shopping, chatting, swimming and sunbathing. Have bought a mobile dongle, so can now access internet at any time anywhere in Northern Cyprus and Turkey and just have to purchase data transfer in 30 day blocks.

Hi Sloan - Thanks for the update. Enjoy. Whitby is becoming popular. Just visited my mum in her retirement home and the maintenance man told me he was off to Whitby and can I recommend places to go and see - where does one begin? If this sunny weather hold out he will have a great time.

Off to Amsterdam tomorrow for a week and some fun time with my family over there. The weather is set for fair. Can someone tell me what a mobile dongle is, my small knowledge hasn't come across a dongle yet. Enlighten me someone.
Will report back on the 18th. Bye for now.
