Wahey, Merry Widow - you did it!
No good asking me about your mobile phone - I don't even know how to do capital letters on mine!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Now that I do know about. If you depress the key for a little longer you get a capital. I am going to sit down this weekend and force myself to get further than the 'get started' page. Why is it that the older you get the more complicated all these new gadgets are. I couldn't send text messages for the life of me on my old phone and the family were getting frustrated. Splashed out on a Blackberry for the qwerty keyboard and its now a breeze.
I have a girl that comes in a few times a week to help in the house, she's 27 and she solves all my problems in a flash. She has instructed me to photograph all my contacts as I meet them and she sticks their photos in the caller section. Its starting to be fun.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Well, I've done it. Thank you SDW and Donny-gal. At the last minute I wimped out of 13!
I know it sounds stupid, but I cannot find a hash key on my mac!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Welcome to this select club pollypenny - Whats wrong with no.13 - I have always walked under ladders on purpose. My mother and father in law got married on Friday 13th March. They enjoyed a long and happy (?) marriage.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Welcome all new SKI-ers.
Pollypenny, Many moons ago my first husband left me, pregnant and with another young daughter. I lost my home and very nearly my sanity. I lived in b&b for 12 months. Got the keys to a new council house on Christmas Eve. It was number 13, the council asked if I would like it changed to 12a I refused, I reasoned that my life and luck had to get better and boy did it ? Lovely new career and the start of a wonderful journey through life with my now darling old man.
Number 13 is certainly my lucky number.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
Now that IS interesting ...
In the 'Good Old Days' - possibly before the latest forum upgrade, when you edited your signature it changed on ALL your posts, even the pre-change posts, IYSWIM.
But YOU, MW, appear to have a signature on your latest post on this thread, but not on the one before it.
Or maybe it only adds it on posts made after the date you added a signature? Not sure. Will have to consult some more technically minded people ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I noticed that as well Savvy Sue.....(AKA HRH_MUngo)

OK, my more technically minded friends tell me that's normal.
IE, when you add a signature for the very first time, only posts made after you added it will show it (unless you turn it off for some posts).
But if MW edits her signature, ALL her posts with a signature will have the new signature.
I don't think I've ever noticed anyone add a signature before, IYSWIM! :rotfl:
Now, getting firmly back on topic, we enjoyed ski-ing in Fuerteventura so much that we have already booked a return visit for September. The weather was not what DH ordered, so he is hoping for another top up of sunshine before the winter. Next time we are going to a villa rather than a hotel. Haven't even thought about flights yet, will have to read Martin's article (again) about the best time to try and book them. Haven't booked leave yet either but I am sure that will not be a problem, although I must get in the diary.
BTW, I have a 'packing list', and this time we edited it, so that before we leave I can DEMAND to see that DH has the RIGHT credit cards with him, rather than left at home. Truly, I despair.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I was going to use 13, but at the last minute ---!!
I normally scorn superstition, but find myself saying things like 'That's the third problem, so we're ok now" Daft, eh?
Just been trying to get DH to book our main holiday. He wants Morocco, but I'm not sure. We had basically decided on India in the Autumn. Any comments would be very welcome.
On another, subject; I've just had a tax form AGAIN! I only have state and teachers' pensions; savings are taxed at source, so it's blooming annoying. Do most retirees get a tax form?Member #14 of SKI-ers club
