Meant to add earlier that I had heard that Pensions are not taxed in Cyprus - can you find out if that is true.

Taxed @5% in Greek Cyprus, and you can get civil service/teachers/military pensions paid direct, untaxed in the UK, very unusual.

Not sure what the situation is in Turkish Cyprus.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Just back from our latest ski-ing trip to Paris. HAd a great time and the weather was lovely but I must say I found it extremely expensive. We certainly ate into the kids inheritance.

When my husbvand retired from teaching, he threw away any shirt with a collar and ceremonially burnt all his ties. :rotfl:

When my husband retired from teaching, he threw away any shirt with a collar and ceremonially burnt all his ties.

DH is a bit like that, although he didn't go so far about the shirts with collars. He spent so many years wearing business suits that he now has a rooted objection to wearing a suit at all. I think he's only worn one about 3 times in all the years I've known him! Same with ties, although he does wear one very occasionally.

He saw his consultant on Monday and all is well. Just normal progress from now on, getting the leg stronger and getting more mobile as time goes on. We're looking forward to our getaway in a couple of weeks' time.

When I retired I cleared out all my office clothes and have never bought a blouse again.

Good luck to all who travel and those who are planning it (me!).

It's good to know that your DH is on the mend MC. I'm sure your support has a lot to do with his positive outcome.
