    Have a great week, Sue!

I can empathise with your hunt - how maddening is it when you lose something? Hope the passport surfaces, Merrywidow!

(I thought I had lost my favourite bathing suit. No, left it at DS's last Summer. He threw it out!)

Just introducing myself and saying hello.

I live in North Yorkshire and am retiring from teaching in July. I then plan to divide my time between North Yorkshire and North Cyprus. I plan to use Cyprus as a base to explore the Middle and Far East. Retirement cannot come soon enough!

    Regards to everyone!

Welcome to the Skiers Thread Sloan

You will find many of us flit between both threads. I am a bit of a fraud on the "Living" thread as we have a house in the UK and in Spain and flit between them. At the moment I am in Spain, the main ex-pat belt surrounded by English/Dutch/German/Spanish/Scandinavian, and many bars/cafes/restaurants/shops. etc.

We now drive backwards and forwards, and have just had over two months out here, and the current plan is to go back at the end of April. You may wish to read back on both threads and that will fill you in about us all.

MW - Found that passport yet??

    Take care

    Hi, Sloan.

You won't be sorry about retiring! I miss the kids, but no more red pens! Hooray! :j

You didn't say if you are secondary or primary. I bet you are counting each set of reports or exams if you are secondary.

Cursed passport is still missing. I felt very stupid when I realised that I didnt even have a note of the passport number. Today I had an email warning me to renew my Senior Railcard which I did and low and behold on my details was my passport number. Saved by the internet.

No, I am definitely counting down now. Each time I do something, I think that it will be the last - reports still to come, but for the last time! I am having a couple of days in London and the off to Cyprus on Tuesday. Can't wait!

Bon Voyage sloan - looking forward to your tales of life in Cyprus.

Meant to add earlier that I had heard that Pensions are not taxed in Cyprus - can you find out if that is true.

Well, as from today I am no longer a licensed teacher! I have burned my boats, as I did not pay my GTC ( General teaching Council) fee. It's £45 in Wales, anyway.

This means I can't do anymore supply - I will miss the kids, but I am enjoying the retired life too much to take the maternity leave that my old school were desperate for me to do!

Cleaned some of the windows today though - couldn't finish them - my elbow has run out of grease! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Back from the latest SKIing trip, fully expecting the purse to turn up now. The boys seem to have survived without us, from the grunts we got whenever I phoned and since we got back in. DH cooking pizza and chips (I am still on holiday in my head, so not cooking ...)
