We have recently taken delivery of this:

    https://www.quick-garden.co.uk/sale/log-cabin-aisne-300x300-28mm-uk.html

It is nearly finished now. We have painted it in shades of green outside and cream inside, and have had green shingles for the roof. We have also adapted the roof so that it has a plastic dome in the centre to let light in. Similar to this:
    http://www.rooflights-skylights.co.uk/userfiles/productimages/eurodome-dome-only09012013104033_lrg.jpg

We are going to use it as a chill-out room, using solar lighting a lot of the time, although we can run a cable from the house if we want to plug the convector heater in or need stronger light.

It's on the site of our old greenhouse.

Realyl excited about furnishing it now. We already have a Poang chair that we don't use http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/series/07472/

so that will go in there. We are also going to get a small sofa and coffee table. Thinking of this sofa:

    Excited!!

One day, we'll build a sauna in the garden ... would save us a shedload!

Yes. We like our house and have decided not to move yet.

I had a lump sum come through from my Local Government Pension last week, so we have spent some of it on this. The rest we will save so that when we do want to downsize, we'll have more money and more choice. We're also saving monthly too.

The extra money will widen our options by quite a bit as regards area. There are nice areas in our postcode that we can't afford at the moment, but will be able to with £20-30k more.

  • We have just got two of these for less than £100 :):T

One was almost half price from our IKEA store as it had been on display. The other was £35 from e-Bay but looks as good as new. One is for our summerhouse and one is for our son to replace his (free) IKEA sofa bed that he has had for nearly three years but is now giving up the ghost :). They use it as a sofa but then it is a spare bed for when they have their friends stay over.

    Very MSE, our family.

  • Have also bought a washing machine to replace our twenty-year old one, a Bosch for £120, and a White Knight tumble dryer (never had one before) for £80 from an outlet that reconditions donated machines that otherwise would have gone on the tip.

Snap, we have also just bought a tumble drier after 51 years of marriage and never having one before, although we haven't used it yet.
  • I have used mine three times. Didn't want wet bedding festooning itself all over the place!

We have had to buy a vent hose extension for it so that it vents out of the catflap :)

Ours is a condenser dryer and we have it in the garage. I am looking forward to having fluffy bath towels in the winter (I'm easily pleased).

Hope your cat doesn't try to come in through the cat flap when you are using it for the dryer:eek:

We made sure the cats were in before using it :) The cat flap goes into the utility room.
