SKI-er or Sk-ater. We know how to enjoy ourselves

I am in a state of exhaustion!
Wanted in the USA to help with the gorgeous boys at end of July. Tried to book flights today and spent two hours in all.
Our Trip Adviser link was good, but by the time I'd put in the details it said 'price change'. Well over £1000 each then! We resorted to indirect flights, but by a fluke, an email from Expedia came up with an okay price.
Our Skiing is not so much spending their inheritance but using it now to help them!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

We have a couple of holidays and a wedding coming up.
In June we are visiting our friends' Christian Retreat in a stately home in Cornwall for a week:

In August our best friends' youngest daughter gets married. My husband and her dad are 'the band'.
And in September we have a cheap and cheerful caravan holiday in Pembrokeshire , £175 for seven nights for a six-berth caravan, so we'll see if our son and his partner want to come.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I'm still frazzled over that booking! Glass of wine in the afternoon, since furious hoovering did not help!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Greetings from sunny Crete (28C). We are relaxing after our daughter's fianc! sprung on us on Good Friday that they are getting married on 8th August!
Amazingly everything is in place - reception, food, entertainment, photographer and invites, all sorted in about 3 weeks!0 -

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
My angst over my last booking continues! I waited until after my credit card statement date, as I thought, in order to pay it in July.
Lo and behold, statement arrives today, complete with the blooming flights to be paid by 6th June! Grrrr!
And the bank of mum and dad forked out £500 for DDs car too!
I rang HSBC, spoke to a lovely lad, who explained that the date varies. I've never known that with a credit card before!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

That's always been the case. Weekends, bank holidays etc. always allow a margin. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
I considered I was allowing a margin of two days! Thoroughly fed up with HSBC!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Having finally retired earlier this year, we are really Ski-ing whilst we can! Started with a nice break in North Wales, a weekend in Birmingham, a week in Norfolk, have booked 10 days in France and then 14 nights on a cruise to St Petersburg.
Sod the new kitchen and carpets for a while.....I'm really enjoying this!0 -
Just applied for some Saga shares.
Apparently I am a preferential customer so if I do make some money from the float it will definitely be skied and the original investment kept for the kids.0
