first loaf of cheese and onion out of MR, and nearly halfway gone as well lol!! Just made a cinnamon, raisan and walnut bread, lovely sliced and toasted for brekkie. LOL and my OH thought this thing would just sit in the cupboard hehhe not a chance!

I know there are two of us only here, but I figure it will pay for itself just in the amount of store bought bread that never gets fully eaten and know that there will be none wasted with this. Store bread just never really tastes nice no matter how much you pay for it. Just my humble opinion anyway.

I don't know if anyone has answered the question about how long the bread lasts but for us in a standard plastic breadbox it's still edible (ie non mouldy) after four days. I wouldn't eat it as fresh but it still makes good toast. This is the regular white loaf.

I have the panasonic by the way and couldn't recommend it highly enough. The bread is lovely and I can throw the ingredients together in less than five mins. Have also used it for pizza dough and for ciabatta bread and both turned out perfect. Oh and brioche.

I'm certain it saves us money.

    I wouldn't be without it.

I use a lock-n-lock box and my bread keeps fresh for days. What's brioche like?

    Hello

I want to start making my own bread and am looking for a bread maker. Does anyone know of a good one that costs around £50? Or will I need to spend more than £50?

    Thanks
  • I bought the tesco silver one (around £25) a few months ago and it has been brilliant- I get three or four loaves (dependent on size) from a 48p bag of Lidl bread flour!

When you compare that to over £1 a loaf in the supermarkets at the mo the machine paid for itself very quickly...

    Hi melli,

Many people here recommend a panasonic breadmaker but I have the Morphy Richards fastbake which is often on offer at under £50 and I'm happy with it.

There's a recent thread on which breadmaker to buy that may help so I've added your post to it.

I also got the Tesco one a while back and love it, the bread is delicious, the pizza bases have been amazing, I'd say it was definitely a good buy...especially for the price!

Thank you Pink! I've found a MR BM on the Argos website for £45, so when pay day comes round I shall be making a purchase!!

When I was thinking about buying one several years ago it was a Chef who advised me to get the Panasonic one. I did, and have never looked back. It makes wonderful bread :T
