I've used all 3 makes & would recommend either the Panny or the Kenwood

my first BM was a Morphy Richards & I'd no idea how bad the cake bread it made was till it broke & I tried a Panny, the difference was like day & night

the Kenwood 450 is my favourite though, the bread's comparable to the Panasonic + it has a fan, a viewing window, you can programme it yourself if you want to for custom loaves, & it's a real looker :D

it's currently, on anyway, a lot cheaper than the Pannys

Also interesting! I am just going to go and have a look! Thank you!:)

I have used morphy richards for the past 5 yrs but after much reading up decided when the last one died to go for the panasonic, it arrived on Wednesday and there is no comparison panny all the way for me from now on, the bread tastes so much better and its a lovely quiet machine looks very robust too.

  • Just been looking at the kenwood 450 and I must admit, I have been seduced by its sleek good looks and reviews! Will have to see how many pennies I can add to my savings over the next couple of weeks, then decide! :A

Think that rules out the MR! Heard a few complaints about 'cakey' texture now! Thanks for that. Good to know from someone who has used both. :)

  • I'm another one who'd recommend the Kenwood BM450 - only had mine a month or so but love it to bits. I asked around friends too and got recommendations on all the major makers, so the things that swung it for me were -
max 15hr time delay on Kenwood is the longest out there (others only 11-12hrs),
it has an automatic fruit & nut dispenser,
& a wide range of programmes.

You get both an instruction book and a recipe book which I'm slowly working my way through - my first batch of rolls are in the oven as I type, having made the dough in the machine this morning. Definitely a good buy.

Ah well! Like the sound of the kenwood and the panasonic. I like the quiet operation of the pan, but look of kenwood. good to kno0w about Amazon though.

Thanks Olga. Good to know. Do you find the kenwood noisy? I like the idea of the quiet panasonic as will be using it early morning. Is the kenwood still reasonably quiet?

  • Welcome! Both Panansonic and MR have their followers - depends what features you want, and your budget. I have a Panasonic, and would replace with a similar model :D

I'll add this to the Which BM thread later, to keep suggestions together.
    Thank you :)
