I know the one I used, the 255 didn't & I've just downloaded & had a look at the 257 user manual (which tbh is almost exactly the same as the 255's) & it doesn't either0

The jam making option is a good idea. Thank you for looking for that, you are a star! :staradmin:starmod::staradmin:starmod::starmod:In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -
Kenwood is def a fore runner due to jam making option. Does anyone else find it noisy? In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0

it is noisier than the Panny, but it's not so bad that you'd think it was noisy if you'd not heard a Panny first to compare it to, iyswim0

I live in a flat, my bedroom door's across a narrow hallway from the kitchen & if the kitchen door's closed the BM doesn't wake me if it's on in the early hours. I might hear it in the background if I was awake anyway, but then I'd probably hear the Panny too
& I've no door on my bedroom just now
actually, come to think of it, I've never left the kitchen door open when it's been on so I don't know if it would bother me or not :think:0 -
:TSorted then. Kenwood it is! Thank you for your advice! Now just to save a wee bit extra for it.In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0

Thanks Olga. Good to know. Do you find the kenwood noisy? I like the idea of the quiet panasonic as will be using it early morning. Is the kenwood still reasonably quiet?
I haven't used the Kenwood overnight yet but even sitting with it running in the kitchen it's not particularly noisy - I reckon it would be fine using it overnight. You'd be more likely to wake up because of the delicious smell wafting through the house :rotfl:
The rolls came out fine by the way - about 90 mins to make the dough in the machine, then I took it out and cut it into pieces, let it rise for 30mins then baked for about 20mins in a 180 deg oven - yum yum! lunch was warm rolls with butter...0
