I used to have a cheap breadmaker but wasn't really happy with the bread it made, it often didn't mix very well but recently bought a Panasonic SD 255 and it's brilliant - now use it at least 3 or 4 times a week.0

Buy a Panasonic.

Hi Mumof2 :hello:
I have added your thread to the existing one on which breadmaker and why. This keeps all the information together
I had a Morphy richards but gave it away as i preferred handmade bread. It worked perfectly for me - it was the compact breadmaker.
Good luck and thanks

hiya all
ive finally spent my money on buying my breadmaker, i bought the LIDL one at 24.99 and i have to say im really pleased
funds low at the moment i was trying to save for the panasonic, but i thought i might as well try this out and start the process, so went with my gut feeling and boy have darling hubby and dd been very complimentary:j
so have won them over with the bread, and lidl do their ready mix at 99 a bag and can do 2 loaves at 750 g, so bargain there too
so for anyone wishing to start like i did, worth a go,
time delay and lots of programmes, ive done the ciabatta bread and a wholemeal so far but only done the 750g loaf
other sizes 1000g and 1250g, but if anyone else is using this one or can clear my misunderstanding up would appreciate it
how much more ready mix to do a 1250 load say as at moment using 500g to do the 750g,,, its not double surely?
anyway appreciate any feedback cheers and have a fun weekend maz:DSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

I had a Panasonic - just sold it on eBay for £35. 5 years old, used it less than a dozen times and shoved it in the back of a cupboard as was not impressed at all. Not a patch on bread by hand."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

I have made bread for many years. By hand and by a number of bread machines. The panasonic is the best ever. It actually tastes like real fresh bread. I am so glad I paid the extra for it.Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

I started with a second-hand Hinari, £4 at a car boot l8 months ago. After reading this forum, 5 months ago I bought a new Panny 255 and wouldn't consider another make after trying bread from friends different machines. It's been 100% successful at every recipe I've experimented with, and yesterday made a gluten/wheat free loaf for a friend who said it was the best she's ever tasted and I have a job for life  - I already provide my DD, DB and neighbour with loaves, I'm thinking of going into business!0
