Hi mardatha there's a big thread on breadmakers here, I've got a Morphy Richards and I'm very happy with it.

Mardatha if it helps you at all my panasonic is the best thing I ever bought (well, that and my remoska). It is more expensive than other brands but produces consistently excellent bread....and I am convinced that this is because all the recipes are based on weighed ingredients rather than on cup measures. I've always found that accurate weighing of ingredients is cruicla in good breadmaking and I think if you are measuring things out by cups there is just too much leeway for inaccuracy .....eg a heavy hand when filling the cup can compact the flour, so straight away the accuracy has flown out of the window. - and I know at least 2 people who don't level off the cup measure.

    You will need:-

Yeast .....I like the orange packet of Dove dried yeast rather than the sachets. Once opened I keep it in the freezer and use it straight from frozen - never been a problem and never had a pack go off.

    Strong Whie bread flour

    Salt

I NEVER put sugar or milk powder in my bread, even though a lot of recipes specify you should. If you make your own yogurt and strain it as I do, use the whey in place of water. I also save all water that has been used to cook potatoes for use in bread making, The starch helps the rise, the flavour is great and you're not throwing any vitamins away.

    Enjoy yourself Mardatha ! :T:j

I got a Panny at Christmas, and i think it's great.
Two little criticisms, one the bread is more fattening than shop bought, because it's tasty you eat more.
And the second, i'm no good at cutting even slices, so i wonder can they do an accessory to cook it sliced ?
