Fancy sharing the secret with me too? If it does have 12months warranty it sounds like a good deal.

Just to let you know that with all new laptops under vista, if the manufacturer finds out you've been tinkering with the laptop (adding ram or hdd) then the warranty for the laptop is void. In the case of HP and Toshiba even if PC World Techguys do it they void the warranty straight away so be careful with new machines.

I'm sorry but that is incorrect. These components are designed to be upgraded and have user removable panels. The "you've upgraded your PC and the warranty is void cos you took the lid off" was challenged in court and the company lost because PCs are modular and designed to be upgraded.

This is a refurbished product and comes with a full 12-month warranty. A refurbished product is a product that has been returned by a customer and has since been refurbished to new. It has been data cleansed, professionally checked and tested, and reboxed with all applicable accessories. That means you can buy with peace of mind and make great savings.

Is there any chance that this laptop is still available? If so can you let me know where you got it from too, please.

I agree with the comment above, if you choose to upgrade the memory etc in a laptop there is no way you can invalidate your warrenty.

Unless of course you damage the laptop by damaging it whilst doing so.

If the retailer says you have then refute their claim, agree that if the fault is found to be because of your upgrade then you will pay, however I would always remove the upgrade before returning the product incase they send a replacement without your upgrade.

Yes it is either via currys/Dixons/PC World. I found Currys the best overall package, free delivery and 3.5% back off Quidco..... Thopugh that is yet to be tracked

I am very very tempted into buying the Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535 with extra 1GB RAM. I have noticed that in comet it costs between £299.99 and £349.99 (299 for 1gb and 349 for 2gb). What I am going to do is take the product page from ebuyer and take it to comet and ask for a discount. I am a student who is buying a laptop because my younger brother has downloaded too much and slowed the computer down and I need something for work.

I just configured this DELL it's not £300.... but it's close £352 incl. vat and delivery. So for £50 extra you get something decent in my opinion

And it will fly on XP.

    Hi

I too am looking to spend around £300 - £350 (ish) on a laptop. I know siliconbits has created a great top 12 list, however do you think someone could put a list in order of the best top 10/12 in order of best overall performance/value for money etc (with number 1 being the best).

I am so confused there are that many out there, and obviously I want the best that my money can buy. I also want it to be able to run vista as I have a desktop PC that I have XP on and if I don't like vista I can always load XP on it instead.

    Thanks All in advance
