I ordered over the phone and was only asked my name - I was never asked if I was a business0 -
I imagine the info in this thread is a bit out of date now? I have been looking for a laptop for under £300 for a friend who will probably just use it for a bit of Word Processing and Internet Surfing. She wants a screen at least 15".
I had a look at val-u-computers.co.uk on the internet (not allowed to post link) and there seem to be some good bargains. Some of the best deals are for second-hand IBM Thinkpads that have Windows XP PRO or XP PRO "B".
Would only having XP PRO be a problem? I use a Mac now and am out of date with the latest Windows Operating Systems - the last one I used was XP and it seemed fine. I have heard that later Windows systems, like Vista, were more problematic than XP.
Any views on these bargains or buying from val-u-computers.co.uk would be gratefully received,
Best wishes,

For secondhand laptops they're overpriced. Big Pockets are cheaper.

Valu computers are selling a core duo 1GB RAM 60GB hard drive 14'' screen laptop for £264 delivered.

But for the same delivered price Argos Clearance are offering this refurbished laptop which has dual core 3GB RAM 500GB hard drive with a 15.6'' screen.

laney, you'll be very lucky to find new laptops for less than £300 these days. However Argos Ebay clearance shop sells refurbished laptops which are often excellent value.
