Nyk, bails I am losing the will to live with the free bingo, will try something else instead to up my income
Cooking for oldies again tomorrow tonight, we are having a bit of fun with a war time themed tea, spam and corned beef, salad, home baked cakes and home made veg soup, jam, and chutneys, and crusty bread.Very OS;)
got lots of union jacks and bunting to decorate and war time songs on cd.
Some may be coming dressed up with their cross over aprons and turbans and one still has her land army uniform.
I'm going to print out some ration books for them and other bits and pieces.
May post some photos tomorrow night.0 -
Sounds great SophiesMum, would love to see the photos! You put in so much hard work, I love people like you!
The kitten has just come in limping badly, unable to put any weight on his front right paw - I think it may be broken? Taking him to the vets later (first appointment we can get), should I strap it or anything in the meantime? Looks like we'll be cancelling our meal out, 2 visits to the vets in 3 days! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Afternoon frugalites
Still trying to reclaim the unauthorised unexpected spend by DH. I am at home today so have just finished Lamb Casserole (mostly gravy and potatoes  ) and I am softening some marge to make a cake later. The only eggs I have say "Best Before 23 March" so I'll let DH have first bite :rotfl:
A few days late but have sent forms off to move money from our savings across into our ISAs for this year.
DH just signs whatever I put in front of him. Bless:kisses2:
Its a good thing he trusts me :rotfl: And a good thing I have hold of the purse stringsHe says he never had money until he met me
I am going into the garden between showers...and with 5 layers on and 2 pairs of gloves, tights, socks, boots and a hat  I will have great difficulty bending over
Forgot.....the lambs have arrived :j :j
Mmmm...must check how the mint is doing0 -
Well done sophiesmum and bails poor kitten. Don't know what to do about that. Could you ask the vet?0

Good afternoon to all, sun is shining and there are BUMBLE BEES flying about out there! (I'm a beastie wimp). Drain now unblocked - err, they hit it with a hammer a few times, no rodding, no super duper powerful water jet, no dyno rod, just a hammer.
We've managed to move most of the pieces of the hen run but one extra large panel is currently jammed halfway across the dry stone dyke awaiting a third body to help us move it.. :rotfl: Pity, as it's such a nice day that the Guinea Pig would have enjoyed a little stroll on the lawn.
Have still got free bingo running in the back ground and have managed to check every half hour or so for free tickets but not a bean won.
Mr Osprey has arrived back in the area, so all the twitchers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Mrs Osprey. It'll be nice if they breed this year, as I haven't seen any chicks since 2006. There's a live cam set up on the nest site and broadcasts 7 days per week in the visitor gallery at the top of the local county buildings, so anyone can go watch for free. I'm working there tomorrow afternoon, (I do Council relief work) so will spend some time in the viewing room.
Visitor hasn't arrived this afternoon, yet, so I'm considering popping out to the garden and planting my carrot & lettuce seeds.
Hope you are all having a good day and not boring yourselves to tears with this free bingo lark. I have to agree, it is about as exciting as watching paint dry and I have now bestowed all my trust in the law of averages actually paying off at some point between now and midnight. :rolleyes:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Wonderful weather here today. Just £4.34 DD to add to the running total.
Made 2 loaves yesterday in the BM, 1 cheese and 1 chocolate fruit loaf. The chocolate bit was an experiment - I just added 'some' drinking chocolate to the mix and the rest of the ingredients. It tastes nice, not particulary chocolately, but it gives it a slightly sweeter edge."Stay Wonky":D

Hi whitewing me agaon i am not an accountant but did have my own business till recently
Sometimes accontants and solicitors get you to pay a deposit when you commission them to act for you or if what you ask them to do incurrs costs to them the terms of my lease required me to pay the landlords legal costs i had to pay this to my solicitor before he would represent me because he would have to pay it if i didn't
don't know if that helps at all

Have just qualified in the course "How not to cook a sponge cake"
Got top marks in fact :rotfl:
Cake stuck to tin....it was well greased but I had no greaseproof left to line it. Its now a pile of (very tasty) crumbs on the draining board.
I think it might become a trifle before DH comes home.
I have found an expired jelly in the back of the cupboard and a tin of pears which I think says 2006 on the bottom but I can't be sure
I have boiled the remainder of the expired eggs and will make DH some sandwiches for when he finishes work. If the eggs in the cake don't get him, the sarnies should.
Good thing I bought a mega supply of Charmin (18 rolls for £4):T
That'll teach him to blow the budget.;)0
