Yesterday, as we went about our daily business, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. (But all came right in the end).
Mistimed my visit to the CAB for more advice about the job situation. Had to wait for over 2 hours to see someone. However, was worth it for the peace of mind. They are very, very good.
Then had an afternoon appointment to see the tailor about H2B's wedding suit. (He wants something a little bit different than normal, as he he spent so little on his wedding ring, there is spare budget). It's about an hour away. Well it would have been. Had there not been a massive diversion. We were going to stop off at a local beauty spot for H2B to take some photos so we were on our way early. Anyway, the journey with diversions took two hours so we arrived 15 minutes after our appointment. Tempers were a little fraught. Other niggly things has happened all day.
Anyway, the appointment went very well once the tailor was convinced that H2B was serious about his requirements and that I was perfectly happy to go along with it. (He wants a suit with a retro twist to the styling). We all got quite excited in the end.
But we got back late, so H2B missed half of a meeting that he should have gone to. Which was annoying.
Had a nice salad for tea, along with pizza. And heard about DS's trip to an activity centre.
It doesn't sound too bad from reading my post, but trust me, it felt like there was a black cloud engulfing me all day.
This morning we need to go shopping for a shirt/shoes for the wedding suit. But we have been recommended three shops by the tailor and he certainly seems to know his stuff.
Good: Ten hours sleep last night, and the slight headache and heaviness in my limbs that has plagued me over the last week seems to have disppeared at last.
Better: In the supermarket the other day, we had toyed with the idea of getting extras that we don't normally buy for DS's packed lunch on his school trip. We decided not to in the end. And made him 4 cheese spread and ham sandwiches, packed a banana, apple, 2 satsumas and a tub of cucumber strips. He then asked for 2 sliced green peppers. And we didn't even buy any squash. Just popped a bottle of orange juice mixed with tap water into the freezer to chill. Felt a bit guilty at inflicting frugality onto him when in the past we had spent around £5 on school trip packed lunches. But he loved it.
Best: Read all your posts this morning, whilst eating a lovely bowl of half-price strawberries, and they cheered me up no end. SF - very well done indeed. Mr DT - interesting reading: I must do mine (I fully intend to). Everyone else - I do read everything and am very fond of each and everyone of you, but I can't remember who said what when I am typing my posts:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. HI All,
Not having a great day but before going any further:
SF: FANTASTIC!!!! Well done!
BL: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
After having such a great weekend the reality of day to day life has come crashing down on me. We had this morning the normal fight over washing hair and how long should the sleeves are in a top. I took screaming, crying, kicking and topless DD to PreSchool and ran. (Yesterday evening she went and did a wee and poo on the floor in her room!!!!! She promised this morning not to do it again - I think she got the message that it was so not on!)
There is just so much to do that I am getting into a panic. If someone can help NYK get that £150k can someone help me to get £82k? That money would mean that I would be debt free and that I would have enought money to live on until my college finishes in two years time and I wouldn't need to declare anything to any authoroties to get any benefits. Ah would that be a bliss. And if I earned any money from the books that would be plus but I wouldn't HAVE to earn anything and would be able to concentrate on my extended family and my studies.
Just finished my healthy breakfast of shortbread and tea. (I need to make a HM loaf and do cheese and pickle sandwiches ready in the freezer so that I can just put them in the grill in the mornings.) So off now to make a list of things that absolutely has to be done today and what can be done tomorrow. Hopefully that will ease the panic a bit.
I was hoping for a NSD but need to take DD to see a physiotherapist at the hospital later and was thinking of checking out this play area nearby afterwards and I have heard that there is a cafe so might need to spend on a cup of tea this afternoon.
Oh - I do have good news as well. I have free tickets to the F1 practice day in Silverstone next Friday. The tickets include breakfast and picknic lunch!! I just need to find a Dogsitter so that I and DD can go.
Off I go now...
Have a great day everybody

Good morning / almost afternoon
Jamiedodger - you can do this, you'll get all the support you need and plenty of helpful hints and tips.
Mumzy - have you thought about waiting a bit longer for a hamster and posting a wanted on Freecycle for a cage & accessories?
Whitewing - I'm glad you are feeling a bit better after a good night's sleep. You are going through so many stressful days. I hope you are 100% about doing the right thing at the right time and as long as you are, then things WILL work themselves out. There are diversions everywhere, no matter what road we take in life. I was told by a wise friend that they are simple tests to assure us that we have chosen the correct the right path.
Marru - I hope you have a better day and have some luck on the free bingo (I only remembered about it half an hour ago but need to go and do more party food shopping today, so won't catch many games.) If my premium bond numbers come up then I'll make sure I have space for everyone to visit as a bolt hole - perhaps a handful of log cabins situated with views of the duck ponds in the garden? (to the newcomers - this refers to my dream home of the future, not my current terraced rental. :rotfl: )
Today I need to go more party food shopping. HS managed to get packs of Smarties from the little sweet shop when it opened this morning, so I can complete the [STRIKE]99[/STRIKE] 96 top hats this afternoon.I did a search online to find out if we have an Iceland within travelling distance, as I have £15 of Love2Shop vouchers I could use, but err... apparently our 3 nearest stores are all in Northern Ireland! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Next nearest is over 60 miles away in Ayrshire.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi Nyk,the top hats sound great! Can you tell me how you made them please as they sound like a great little present that my girls could make for their friends at the end of term.My middle one is off to secondary in September and the majority of her class are going to a different school so we would like to make about 20 ish, although i think she will make one for everyone.A few of her closer friends are going to have a home made chocolate slab each [yum yum......!]I would just like to say i love this thread and i am a long time lurker, i think i must get a new idea from it every single day and the chat between you all is friendly and genuine.Keep it up girls and guys...0

Slowly....congrats!:T :j
NYK.....I know my sig. looks great, but alas I have to up-date it, although I am still doing quite well as I buy nothing if I can help it! I haven't bought any clothes since last September, including knickers! :rotfl: I honestly can't remember when I last bought shampoo and conditioner. I'm still using what was bought me for my birthday and Crimbo, although I have noticed that I'm getting short on it. Will have to start on the hotel freebies next!:D
Shelby....I'll find out more about the cookery course and will let everyone know how I get on on Monday.
Marru....You poor thing having to drag your tot off to nursery. I am still having to drag my DS (15yrs) sreaming and kicking to school.! He's nor topless though!:rotfl: I had to read your thread twice as I thought that YOU were the one that was topless! Whatever turns you on!:rotfl: :rotfl:Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T
