don't don't worry, I took that gamble and it has really paid off. I now have a lovely home outright and there was often a chance I would loose it.
    :)

I am really holding on to this thought. Thank you everyone for your kind words to the worried. Especially to Janey, who is worrying for us all.

Bails... this is for you :grouphug:and this :coffee: and this :bdaycake:

I know it isn't your birthday, but it was half price, so I thought *** it, we need cake to have with a cuppa.

Crowns and king robes, hmm... when you mention santa, could you alter a santa hat using cardboard cut-outs and the gold pliable metal sheets recycled from the insides of tomato puree tubes? They are a great colour, very regal :) (I save these and have used them for decorating allsorts, even making mobiles and wind chimes, see my free hobbies thread wherever it is :rotfl: )

PANIC! WORRY! I'm demented! Last night I dreamt that the EX friend who owes me money was trying to beat me to the supermarket because she heard prices were doubling and she could afford to stiock up on MY MONEY! I'm so annoyed that I might just go and stock up myself, in case it really was some sort of premonition! (Think I'm just annoyed that I can't get the money, but it's a good excuse for a trip to the spring meadows.:D )

I just remembered Marru asked about easy peasy pizza! Sorry, meant to answer that earlier, as I cheat for pizzas. Anytime you get the change of the plain baguettes (often reduced in our local supermarket) grab them for the freezer. I slice them lengthways and use a mixture of tinned chopped tomatoes and tomatoe puree as the sauce and then throw on everything that's available - onions, chopped peppers, mushrooms, chicken, sweetcorn, sliced tomato, anything at all that's left over really, and then grate cheese over the top, bung it in the oven for 10 or 15 mins and voila! Luxury French bread pizza! DS loves them! Better still, you can even make them up and cook them from frozen! :j

Sounds great :) I have another supercheap option:
6 pack of cheapo pitta bread
    tin of plum tomatoes chopped
    tin of baked beans
    a small onion chopped
a bit of garlic crushed (just add to taste, i use a lot :D very cheap if you buy frozen)
some cheddar cheese grated (about 100g should do it)
couple of pinches mixed herbs and a splash of lea and perrins

Drain the tomato juice (don't throw it away, you can drink it just don't add it to the mixture) mix up the chopped tomato and baked beans (no need to drain the sauce) in a bowl, add the onion garlic hebs and worcestershire sauce and mix it all up some more.

Spread a sixth of the mixture on each pitta bread, top with a little grated cheese and grill for a few minutes :)

Not strictly pizza, but it does taste good, can be frozen, and can be eaten cold for lunch. It's really cheap, you get a fair bit of protein from the cheese and beans, and I think it's suitable for veggies if they don't mind cheese. Just costed up on tesco and it's about 20-25p per pitta pizza using good quality cheese :) Maybe you can do even better if you make your own bread but that's a step too far for my liking lol!

:rotfl:Loving the half-price birthday cake Nyk, thanks very mich :T I have calmed down somewhat now that they are paying the money into my account either today or tomorrow; panic (hopefully) over.

Your dream had me in stitches Nyk, I have some funny ones too and they're quite often related to moneysaving etc - wonder why? ;)

Pizzas do sound lovely, we're going to attempt making our own bases for the first time this month (well, May GC). OH has just made a mahoosif round loaf and it is divine! He's becoming a real expert at this bread-making lark :j See, it's easy to make me happy :rotfl:

I'm so upset.i didn't know where to post but just wanted a moan so here I am.
I just visited my practice Nurse to have blood taken.i'm no good when it comes to giving blood. They can never find a vein and I really don't like needles or blood.
This Nurse has very little people skills and rambles non stop from you entering the room.I talked over her today trying to explain how difficult it is for me to give blood.Anyway after 2 needle attempt she decided to use a butterfly.(whatever this is) I wasn't looking as i can't bare too.
Eventually she said she'd managed but I could feel the blood running downmy arm.I was too scared to look so just kept looking out the window.
When she had done she said she'd made a bit of a mess.I had blood all over may arm and loads on her table. She then mopped up the table with a tissue and used the same tissue on my arm!
I'd managed to fill 3 bottles but when she came to put them in the bag she split one on the table and down her hands.
By this time I really felt faint and said I needed to get out of there.Which I did.I had to sit on the bench outside the surgery just to get some air.I walked home and was so white when I got in.
I really want to complain about my experience. What do other people think?
I live in a small village with a small surgery.I may have to see her again soon and would really rather not.Can I request the doc takes my blood in future?
I'm off for a lie down now as I feel really yuk :(
lost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

Molly PLEASE report what happened as this is a ridiculous state of affairs! First of all, your health and well-being are suffering BECAUSE of a so-called health professional and secondly, the very fact that she mopped up anything and THEN mopped your arm with the same thing is completely out of order. Of all the vets I have ever worked with, not one of them would do same with an animal, let alone a human being!

I hope you are OK as this is traumatic even to read, let alone having had to experience it first hand. As soon as you feel up to it, write an official letter of complaint and file a copy for future reference. You may not be the only person who has had problems with this particular nurse and you could be helping prevent a medical catastrophe if she's risking cross-contamination wiping the ****** table first! What an idiot!

Sorry, I got so angry at the thought of that nurse that I forgot to post my update. :o

I did as I said and have been to spring meadows at lunchtime. I'm going to end up needing a petrol budget if I keep asking for lifts into town! :D anyhow, my £10 (all because of a stupid dream) shop amounted to £10.40 because I spotted some half-price packs of Naan breads, so I nabbed 3 lots, then thought I'd best get some milk to avoid any moans and groans at having to use powdered all the time. So... the prices were increased slightly. I used to buy the spaghetti at 19p and it's 24p now, but the pasta was only 20p per pack. Trouble was, there were only 5 packs of it left! My tinned tomatoes that were 19p are now 22p and the washing up liquid is definitely 14p for the large (litre?) bottles. I've listed everything I got in the April GC thread and can breath easy now I know that even if ex-friend never gives me the money back, she won't get cheap pasta out of spring meadows today! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

DS was in for lunch and asked the obvious - WHY have I filled the cupboards with pasta, rice and tinned tomatoes? Is there a war? I explained that it was to avoid any future shortages and price hikes, but he just laughed and said the shortages were only because I had bought up all the pasta and rice in the area!! :o He could have a point here...
