i'm thinking about joining the may grocery challenge, methinks i should be paying more attention to rising food prices....

but i think i would have a daft target, when i did my 1st quarter review i averaged abou £9 a week but im getting 3 breakfasts and lunches at work just now, plus i get the odd thing that would go off otherwise....so it will be less than that....would a £28 target be sensible?

    Oh CharliesAngel, hugs to you...

well, I hardly like to tell you our good news today, after that. (I'm not rubbing it in CA; hope you move on to better things). OH went to pick up his first wages from the new job. They have decided to pay him normal rates, not the lower training rates that they had originally said would apply for the first few months. What a boost! It's not a massive amount of money but how heartwarming.

You're a frugalite, stay calm, think things through, then scream at someone just for the 'yell' of it! If you have received your notice, that should give you a little time to play about with and sort out what to do next. You could also see about registering to whatever agencies you have near you and with your local council as they always have jobs available, even if it's only relief or temporary for summer. I normally try to calmly (yeah RIGHT!!!) sort out my emergency budget to plan how to keep up with the bills until an alternative source of income is found. Then I cry a lot and shout at people and then I decide I hated work anyway and never want to go back. Hmm... and therein lies the reasons for my being self-employed, freelance and usually skint.

Can you get a tax rebate?
Do you have a lie week or month to receive?
Have you outstanding holiday pay due to you?

I really am sorry and hope that this didn't come completely out of the blue for you but sometimes these can be opportunities to move on and do something different. (Trying to be positive for you.) Hope you are OK :o

Thank you to everyone who posted reassuring words, I usually try to be positive and have been banishing all negative thoughts today,,,,,a good habit to get into

Molly you should complain though Id def ask the practice manager to keep it confidential, if they have a proper complaints procedure then it should be anyway.........would hate for her to know who complained and then the next time you go you'd feel even more stressed

    Charlies Angel.....am thinking of you......xx
