On the topic of swapping rooms, I posted once about a travelodge booking I couldn't use. Anyway, someone pointed out to me that if any damage was done to the room I'd have to pick it up, as they had my credit card details, and that really put me off giving it away to someone i didn't actually know. Do you think that is true?
I don't think so as i know someone who worked as receptionist in hotel and she said that even though she had swiped someones card when they checked in they could not charge it when they did a bunk without paying the next morning. I know it is slightly different but i would imagine it to be similar (unless they do mass damage and then you may have legal proceedings brought against you as you are the named person).

Here's request to the site moderators/administrators:

When the next Hoxton £1 sale is announced, could this thread be closed and a new one started, otherwise this thread will be huge. A new thread for the new promotion.

    Thanks

Just donning my flame proof suit.

    Hi all:

Just want to send a word of warning: The internet TV in Hoxton Hotel IS NOT FREE. There's an "internet" button on TV's remote control, when you press it, the screen shows that it's £0.00 per hour, however, if you use it, you will be charged at £7.50 for using it. (the fee was charged together with their movies and music services on demand). I almost used it but my OH was being overly careful as usual, except I was wrong this time.

Their normal internet service is free (cable & wifi ones), just not the internet on TV. what a shame.

Dont know if its changed since I was there some months ago but I used the tv internet for about 20mins and there was no charge when I checked out. Maybe its free for a short session?
I'll ask first next time (if I ever manage to get one again)
