Sounds like the problem has been around for a while, as per the Observer article I found:

    So, Mychild, where's my money?

This article appeared in the Observer on Sunday May 27 2007 on p19 of the Business news & features section.

A salesman from Mychild phoned and promised a £6.95 trial box of educational books and CD-roms. I agreed but, when the box arrived, the CD-roms were for a PC and we have a Mac. I returned the box within seven days but, instead of a refund, £72.95 was taken out of my account for a two-year membership.
I have phoned weekly since December. Each time, customer services promises that the money will definitely be sent the next day but it doesn't happen.

Mychild repeatedly gave me the same promise, accompanied by astonishment that the accounts department had yet again failed to return your money. Eventually, I pointed out that my only option was to warn readers about Mychild's behaviour and was told that a cheque for £79.90 had already been written out. That made no allowance for the return postage you paid, for telephone calls or compensation for holding on to your money for so long. Two days later, you received a cheque for £104.

My advice: avoid like the plague, especially as their price for the trial pack has risen from £6.95 to £9.

i have used the CONTACT US part on my child site and requested they take all my details from their data base and informed them of my anger after being cold called also that i will not enter any more comps. I also suggested they take a look at this site at the number of negative comments on here.. good luck to any one entering their comps do so at your own peril.

If anyone on here has paid them money and lives in Wales, my advice is to contact The Ferret at ITV. They are brilliant.

I had a missed call from them yesterday and then they called me this afternoon. I'm not sure how they got my number as due to the other posts on this site I always make a mistake when I enter my number! They said that the competition I entered was due to be drawn at the end of this month but would I be interested in taking out the special offer, which I declined as they had already called my husband at work this morning (who didn't know anything about this company) and had agreed to their offer, so I can foresee many problems ahead getting the refund etc. What I can't understand is where they got his work number from - I wouldn't have entered it anywhere as I can't remember it myself. The only people that have his work number are the pre-school and nursery we use, as an emergency contact number.

I can't wait to get a phone call from this lot, and enquire about their underwear - it cuts the call short very efficiently. :rotfl:
