Phone call from My Child

I think the problem is now that so many people have been hounded by my child and even worse had money taken by them, it will be very difficult for anyone to have faith in them.
Add to the fact we have some lovely clever people on mse - thank you hamster - we tend to only get taken in by a company for a short time.
Mark at my child you have very big bridges to build to restore consumers confidence, one bridge I will not be crossing again.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -
Hello - it's true that we bought a majority stake back in 2007 but it was only in the last month that the old management team has been removed, My Child has moved into Electric Word's office and I have taken on responsibility for managing the company. My team is absolutely committed to ensuring that the mistakes of the past are not repeated and I'm determined to rebuild the bridges that you guys mention.0

Dear Mark, thank you for responding to our concerns. Will you still be running competitions where the only way to "win" is by first having to buy the products, and/or endure sales calls?
Thank you for your help in this matter.0 -
No, we haven't done that for ages. At the moment, we are offering free educational resources. In exchange, we ask for an email address (and if you don't want emails from us you can unsubscribe immediately) and we ask for a phone number only if you want to receive a call to find out more about My Child. We also run competitions on our website. On here, you do have to give us your email address and telephone number to register, after which you can enter as many competitions as you like. But winning is totally unconnected to whether or not you're a customer. Winners are chosen completely at random by a computer system and posted automatically on the site.
I hope that helps.

Have no idea how these My Child people would have gotten my number...do not have any children!
Only thing I can think of is once I ordered some school books online through CGP and the phone number was a mandatory field. Just found this statement on their website:
"We reserve the right to release account and other data for any legal reasons; or to enforce our terms & conditions; or to protect the rights, property and security of CGP
and its users. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction."
So looks like My CHild may have been given my number from CGP.
Has anyone else recieved a call from My Child after using the CGP website?
I am a current student at Leeds Uni, not alumini, so don't think it's them poncing money off me! (as I have seen mentioned in other threads).0 -
i shall avoid them Thanks for warning:happyhearJules xx

I haven't had any sales calls (that I know of!) but this is the same company that took 4 months to send me a prize, lots of chasing, blamed it on the supplier and when it eventually turned up it was the size of a matchboxJNOQRYZAnti-Aging SerumBallet ticketsCash (£125)Diamond earringsEssential OilFlash FebrezeGourmet pizzasHairbrushesIWOOT VoucherKeyring (Creme egg)LucozadeMoney (£100)Peroni CoasterSt Helier TShirt(s!)Toy shape sorterUdderly smoothVoucher car washWeekend to ScotlandXplory Buggy:j0

I recently won a term's supply of Feel Good drinks from a My Child comp.
The prize arrived promptly and i have had no phone calls, nor been asked at any time to pay any money to them.:)0
