I had a call from them earlier while OH was home for his lunch.....I told them I'd heard all about them and that I have no kids and slammed the phone down on them....OH looked shocked so i told him to look on here, he did and agreed with what I'd done!

No prize is worth the hassle that some people have had from these people!

I had a call from them a few minutes ago. I ended up hanging up.
  • I've just answered a call from them after ignoring a few. When I told the lady I had no children, she didn't just leave it at that, she asked me do I work with children, or does my partner have children? I said no, so she said why did I enter the competition. I told her I didn't enter it. She then asked me 'Well, how have I got your details then?', as if I was lying to her about it! I said they must have got them from somewhere else, and she then said she'd take me off the list.

I would steer clear of these, I posted a couple weeks back about them....They bombard you with cd's books amounting to over £100 and 10 days to return them if you decide not to keep...But there's no return address or answers to e-mails..And several pounds in phone calls to them....still with no joy.;)

I have just had my 2nd call from these people, first call no one at the other end so I put the phone down and checked the no. to find the info on here. The 2nd call I ignored, but they left a 3 minute message on my voicemail and all the bloke said was that he 'was starving'!

I've just had a call too - strange as I always uncheck contact boxes for comps.

The lady who spoke to me was really sickly sweet, and when I told her i didn't have any children (a fib!) she said she was "sooo sorryfor disturbing me."

    Weird.

I've done a bit of work on this and there were no contact boxes.....and the comps that were listed on here as ending 31/3 are still running.....they don't have end dates listed on the site as you can see here and at the bottom of the page are the T&C's for comps, for those not wishing to go to the site, I've copied them here, highlighting the bit I found most interesting:

my child prize draw terms and conditions

Entry into this prize draw implies acceptance of these rules and conditions. Open to all UK residents aged over 18 years or over, other than employees of My Child ltd and others professionally associated with the magazine and their immediate families. The prizes/giveaways are as stated and will be awarded to entries drawn at random on the draw date. Winners will be notified within 14 days of the draw. The prizes/product give-aways are subject to availability. In the unlikely event of stated prizes being unavailable, My Child Ltd reserve the right to substitute the prize for one of equal value. No cash alternative is available. No correspondence will be entered into. One entry per prize draw/give-away per household. In entering this Prize Draw the entrant is agreeing to receive email from My Child ltd and carefully selected partners. This promotion may be conducted over several different websites simultaneously. Winners' names may be published in my child magazine and may be required to participate in publicity. Promoter: My Child Ltd, 235 St John Street, London, EC1V 4NG

Now.....who can find where it also says about harassing us for entering the comps by phone...................and is there any authority that govern competitions and prize draws that we can complain to about these people?
